Watching Mary McDonnell in the Closer, and Major Crimes, I really realize what an incredible actress she is. I watch certain parts of her acting over and over and I am just amazed more and more by her, so real, believable. Mary McDonnell should be far more appreciated as an actress

I watch this all the time on TV. Love her humanity as a cop. That is what is needed. She also brings in the religion to the position. Was sad to see the character pass but the way this was set up was very unique, but still......
Great interview...and yes we've mostly seen the darth raydor and even in MC it's as Mary says a lot of a one sided version at work, so as a viewer we're hopeful, the show will continue to show more of her character outside of work and in relation to even more people in her life. So exciting! :)

God, season 6...I can't watch it after I got spoiled sharon's death 😭😭it hurts and I hate James duff for it. I can't rewatch the show it hurts too much. But damn was it good. UNTIL SEASON 6 😭
She was terrible in Major Crimes especially following Kyra Sedgewick, her dead pan deliveries and lack of personality almost made Major Crimes unwatchable. If not for the holdover cast from the Closer, Major Crimes would have flopped in its first season because of McDonnell.

I like the closer better, they had “real” crime stories. Major crimes had more personal stories and rusty was just too much

I think Mary is great star. I am so sad, they let her die. I believe she is probably a lot like her personality on the show. I enjoy the reruns.
