Nurse here, I have found a quick spritz of lotrimin miconazole spray under each breast is far less messy than a cream. If you have broken skin there it can sting at first, but usually after a few days it resolves and you are using it daily as a preventative. I've been using it for about 10 years, and the only time I develop any issues is when I am without it in a very humid environment, like when I'm traveling. I use the Miconazole powder when I travel, and it works, but it requires multiple day application to be effective. Obviously if the spray isnt working or seems to be making it worse you need to stop and reevaluate. But it's easy-to-use, cooling and helps keep me dry and irritation free. In the past I tried all sorts of creams and powders (some mentioned here) and none worked as effectively as this spray. Its found in the foot section, check the active ingredient so that you are sure its Miconazole. And the generic is as effective for me as the brand name. Also keep bras washed and dried well, keep your weight down, and be aware that conditions like diabetes can make you more susceptible to yeast infections and infections in general.
Agree. I got a fungal infection in Europe in 2016. It was unusually hot and many places didn’t have air conditioning because it rarely got over 70. I used Monistat for about 2 weeks just to make sure that it was gone. It hasn’t come back.

Glad she mentioned psoriasis! My first psoriasis lesion showed up under my right boob at age 25 and looked like a huge spider bite and itched LIKE MAD. Was misdiagnosed for almost 20 years until I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis.

As a lady who has had to deal with this problem every summer except for this past year, I have tried everything that has been recommended, and I can share with what works for me. 1. Get yourself a properly fitted bra! Go for thin airy fabrics that are unlined, with a proper band support and cup size. Basically, go for the comfortable and supportive bra design that separates the bottom breast skin from rib cage skin. This is the reason why I go for the ‘minimizer bras’ over ‘sports bras’ for working out. I have found it easier to run in minimizer bras than a sports bra. Bralettes are a No for me, because these loose bra bands allow for skin folds and trap sweat. If you know, you know. 2. Change out to a clean/dry bra after you’ve sweat in them. 3. Benzoyl peroxide cleanser for rash. And use hypocholous acid spray as maintenance, let it dry and put on a clean/dry bra. Good luck!
I got a breast lift. Couldn't be happier, they look better (although smaller), and the skin of the boob has stopped touching the skin underneath, so less rashes
As an H cup gal living in the swamp known as Houston, the absolute best thing I've used is the Monistat chafing cream you mentioned. I also used to use it as a face primer 😅
I found out, after $1000's spent andlots of DR, AND Emergency Clinic visits. I'm allergic to latex. I found out at the DDS, the gloves were latex 6:27 . It caused a rash on my mouth. So, the bra I was using, changed their manufacturing. The company stopped lining their bra band. Therefore, exposing the stretchy latex rubbing my skin. Panties also had this problem, because, l lots of undies have exposed latex elastic. I never used bleach and was careful washing separately from socks, ect... I'm glad you have this post. It took me years to find this information out on my own. The Drs did not mention all the coverage in your post. Thank you
Thank you so much. Im really struggling with this for years and didnt know what to call it. Plus reading the comments from other women helps a lot. Im on the right path by trial and error so this video and comments was very valuable to me.
Some thing as simple as a absorbent paper towel folded and placed under the affected area can keep that area dry enough in the summer to stop the breakout.
I have stage 4 breast cancer and am currently dealing with the yeast infection issue. I have a cream and powder of nystatin for control, and when I have a flare up I wash specifically with Hibclens surgical grade soap. I also will line the area with gauze pads to help keep the area dry.
Hi Dr Dray, I had my annual dermatologist visit today. I have KP on my arms, and had noticed that I’d started having bumps on my chest recently. I work out alot, so I began using a benzoyl peroxide wash after workouts to try and clear it up (thinking it was mild acne). It wasn’t really helping and eventually after trying salicylic acid too, k began to think it could be fungal. I occasionally use Head and Shoulders for my scalp and itchy ears so tried it on my chest but still wasn’t sure what the cause of the bumps were. LONG STORY short, after relating it to my dermatologist, he was impressed I’d thought to use the Head and Shoulders. He was fairly certainly was Malassezia folliculitis, which you’ve covered before, and now I have a prescription for an oral medication. Thanks for making me look so smart!! Love your channel!
I’ve had this problem for the last 10 years in the summer only, I once had an itch in that area and when I went to scratch I literally paused and took a deep breath because it was so raw there that I cut myself and the salty sweat was burning. But it’s improved the last two years. I noticed that the smell always smelled kind of like Clorox but I don’t use Clorox. So I started extra rinsing my laundry after each wash, and I myself have been drinking more water and less acidic beverages. But I love this video, thank you so much.
Rinsing the sweat from our body is key, i think because it prevents the bacteria to break the sweat and make that bad odor 😅. Also sweat is quite irritating. Thanks a lot doctor Andrea for the educational video 😊❤.
After all bathing FINE spray mist with 70% alcohol...it will begin to kill bacteria, yeast totally. spritz under the breast, under the armpits, even on ur back... if used faithfully and after all bathing and in-between bathing as needed the symptoms will go away. Of course, don't use on broken skin...ouch.👍
I'm glad this video came up in my feed. I suffered from the same problem. I talked to my doctor about it some years ago and he gave me several suggestions, but nothing worked for me. One day I was really uncomfortable, so out of curiosity I tried my Suave roll-on deodorant and it worked!! That's all I use now and the rash has not come back.
I started have a problem w/a rash under the breasts during summer several years ago. I live in PNW so humidity is fairly high but wasn't a problem until our summer temps kept getting hotter year by year. Now we have weeks of triple digit temps instead of just a few days. Being a native I just wasn't used to it & didn't realize what the rash was right away. Took a while for me to find something that worked effectively. Cremes tend to be messy & all the powders would cake up & increase the friction. Finally found a powder that works & stays soft/silky. AMB Lady Anti Friction Body Powder works wonders. Very short ingredients list: Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Calamine, Tricalcium Phosphate & "Fragrance". The fragrance is not very strong. Really takes the heat out of the rash fast, absorbs moisture well, is pretty economical & actually does what it advertises. As long as I remember to use it at least several times per week, it works well to prevent the rash.
I get itchy heat rashes in the summertime under my breasts, as I live in Florida. I have found what works best for me is ‘Aveeno Baby’ eczema cream, and ‘Caldesene Medicated Protecting Powder’ with corn starch and zinc oxide. Both are very reasonably priced at Walmart or Amazon. I use the cream first then put the powder over it. Very soothing, takes away the itch and it rids me of the rash almost overnite.
I didn't know they still made Caldesene. I remember that from when I was a tiny child; it came in a pink metal can. Wow. Haven't thought of Caldesene in decades!!
I had this for several months a while back. There were open cuts where the skin had broken down. Showed my PCP on a visit and she told me to soak towels in vinegar and apply for as long as I could tolerate daily. I like your ideas so much better! Now I use Panoxyl in the shower and powder, and occasionally hypochlorous acid.
I've never dealt with this but I'm fairly small chested so maybe that's why. It looks incredibly painful! I can't begin to imagine how miserable this is. Especially in the hot, Summer months. I know this video will be helpful to many. You're the best, Dr Dray! Happy Tuesday!! I hope you have a peaceful evening. 💖
Menopause hot flashes and night sweats has caused me many skin issues such as under the breast and on the scalp. Thank you Dr. Dray for speaking about these sometimes embarrassing issues.
Yeah, my medicine cabinet is full of creams & gels for skin issues. Monistat, Clobetasol, Metronidazole, Cortizone...it's always fun figuring out which one to use ...Gold Bond powder containing salicylic acid has helped a lot. Bra liners help too. Switching up from briefs or bikini to thigh length boy shorts helps with the friction rash caused by elastic in your underwear. Using a toner with salicyclic acid in your arm pits helps with both odor & rash in that area. It starts as a heat, friction or sweat rash & can quickly become thrush.
I use salicylic acid like Sea Breeze or acne wipes that seeps into oil duct and kills then purges skin cells out of pore. I wash bras with Dawn dish soap to get body oils out of bra- soak rinse repeat. I hate perfumes.
Vaseline ( sp ) is made from petroleum. There is organic Vaseline from non petroleum products . Dust under breast with corn starch , or non aluminum baking soda
I used to get that when I was overweight. I used an antiperspirant, deodorant roll on under my breasts. It stopped the sweating and was not as superwarm. My skin condition went away.
@ I was obese with C breasts. The antiperspirant / deodorant kept that area dry and prevented a yeast infection. It is better to prevent a problem than work on a cure. It worked perfectly for me.
This is really informative. A while ago I made the mistake of touching the underbreast area with my hand right after I applied an exfoliating product on my face. I ended up with painful red pustules which I suspected to be acneiform dermatitis
I had this problem and 2 things solved it completely...one is using bra liners, which eliminates damp skin on damp skin and easy to change during the day if its hot. The second is LUME DEODORANT CREAM It is a miracle how fast it works!
Great timing, as it is now Summer in Australia, and this issue comes to me at this time every year. Thanks Dr Dray, hopefully now I can now tackle it better. Was using anti perspirant under them before!
I use Curash baby powder with zinc oxide! Its thee best thing in the Australian heat when you're sweating and bra is rubbing, gets rid of rash really quick.
Cornstarch worked really well for me. First I used some gentle scent free baby wipes whenever I get sweaty and and dry with my hairblower. I use some tea tree oil lotion whenever it develops an aroma, either fresh bread (yeast) or vinegar (?) Works instantly. Oh yes and braless if staying home for the day.
A good friend of mine recently revealed that she hadn't had her bra size remeasured for more than 30 years! She visited the foundation garment section at a department store where the very experienced fitter/saleswoman let her know that the 12C she wore in the 90s was no longer the correct fit for her 14DD bust in 2024. Unsurprisingly she's now a lot happier in her underwear 😁
Thank you!!!! I’ve been asking for this, whether you saw my requests or not, THANK YOU! I’m getting my under ready routine handled, hoping this can really perfect it so I can wear bras every day of the week. I live in the cold dry lol but I’m miserable if I don’t maintain my “bits & bobs” skincare routines in addition to face/neck/cleave area. I also have my routines for my armpits, my butt, my waist (elastic waist lover - tender skin), and my nethers & inner thighs (recurrent staph…do not manual razor shave your privates ppl, even w a new blade. Permanent recurrent staph infection carbuncle).
I’ve had this issue and continue to struggle with it if I don’t treat it every day. I have larger natural breasts and live in a hot, humid climate. I get a red itchy rash both under and between my breasts. I was given an Rx 2% ketoconazole cream that I use with an OTC anti fungal powder (Zeabsorb AF) and that combination works perfectly for me, the only issue is I have to use it pretty much every day or the rash will come back. Hopefully there are no long-term consequences to daily use.
I was given the same prescription and applying it daily is super annoying. In case anyone else suffers from this, I started using terry cloth strips under my breasts and it’s helped a lot because they keep the skin dryer. I just bought some from Amazon. Any random strip will do, just make sure they are 100% cotton.
Once it’s cleared up try washing with anti dandruff shampoo. Alot cheaper and works great to prevent the return. Keep underboob area dry by using bamboo liners from Amazon. Always changing for a dry one when liner gets moist.
I recently went to my dermatologist for a chronic itch. After trying several medications, one at a time, for a week before switching to the next, it was determined I had chronic nerve itch which on me happened to be right in the center area between my breasts, right above my bra strap. After researching on my own, I'm thinking is coming from spinal stenosis that I have in my lower back. I had no rash or redness, no dry skin or other visible indication of itch causing issues, non of the typical OTC or prescription itch medications worked to relieve it. I tried everything from changing soaps, detergents, foods I ate, buying new bras etc. etc. etc. Finally I was given a sample of Opzelura cream by my dr. which immediately relieved the itch that I'd had constantly for a couple years. I would love to know more about nerve itch. What causes it, what gets rid of it etc.
Never had this problem, but I agree with the comments about getting a bra that fits and supports. Because of being a runner, I always just went with sports bras, literally my whole life. About two years ago I realized how unflattering sports bras are and how they don't fit too well (S/M/L is oversimplified for bras). I got a Playtex 18 hour wire free bra in my correct actual size, and what a HUGE difference. My shoulder pain stopped. I felt so much more comfortable. Never had this rash though. It sounds terrible. Don't just be thankful for what you have, thank God for what you DON'T have that you DIDN'T want!
THANK YOU, I KNOW IT IS PSORIASIS NOW, THE PICTURE SHOWS IT. I HAAVE IT UNDER MY BELLY REALLY BAD. I HAVE DIAGNOSED PSORIASIS, PSORIATIC ARTHRITIS, SJOGRENS, OSTEOPOROSIS AND ON AND ON. THE DR, THAT DIAGNOSED ME IS GONE NOW, AND I AM 75. BAD BAD BACK, LOTS OF PAIN. I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND HOW WELL YOU TELL US INFORMATION. YOU ARE A BLESSING. I WISH I COULD FIND SOMETHING TO WEAR TO KEEP THE FRICTION AT EASE. I AM STARTING A NEW DERM THAT MY OLDER BROTHER GOES TO AND HAS PSORIASIS. SHE HAS TREATED HIM WELL. MY OLD DERM DID NOT ACT LIKE IT WAS PSORIASIS, BUT I KNOW IT IS. I AM HEAVY AND THINK SHE THOUGHT IT WAS JUST FRICTION. SHE GAVE ME A CREAM THAT DID DIDDLY. AGAIN, THANK YOU
I’m a senior citizen, never had a problem until this year. Mostly under my left breast which is larger, raised itchy sore bumps, tried baby powder, it worked for awhile, they went away. Then it came back under both , tried CBD, then powder no luck, I’m now using triple anti bacterial cream. Seems to help. Fingers crossed. I’m keeping this article for reference just i case. Thank you.
I am an E cup and I have this issue mainly in the summer, as it gets pretty cold where I live in winter, however if I am doing heavy cleaning or anything where I am sweating this can happen to me in the winter. I have found that if put some deodorant or antiperspirant on after I shower, of course after I am completely dried. This has been a game changer for me. I also went to a dermatologist and found I have HS. I am now on meds for the HS and that has been a big help as well.
Great info. Have psoriasis so watch any breakout..including those from friction against the under part of my breasts. I wash evey day. If I have strips@irritation I use neosporin or my psoriasis creams.
I have lupus and I get all kinds of rashes it is very frustrating nothing works I normally get rashes right before a flare .. thank you for this information ..
For years, i have used flannelette cloths cut into squares about 4x4" & placed under breasts. This works well. But a must is daily washing w soap & water.
I also have HS and psoriasis which causes boils as well as rash under my breasts. I cleanse with hibisclean and use an antibiotic ointment like bactracin or neo sporin on the breakouts or when the boils are draining to prevent infection and make it worse. Its a very hard area to keep under control especially in summer. But keeping it as clean and dry as possible is a must. Both HS and Psoriasis are not curable so if you got it its for life.
Can you talk about contact dermatitis or "rash" from feminine products such as pads? I have a terrible itch and all I was prescribed was triamcinolone cream. No STDs, no STIs, blood work came out fine. Thank you
I don’t know if this will help you, but I’m allergic to the dri-weave (got welts and blisters 😳). I was fine with old fashioned pads. The allergist says it’s an allergy to one of the plasticizers in the product.
I use to get rashes, but i was told to use corn starch talc and it was the best thing i have ever used and never had rashes back. Normally pick it up in the baby isle of the baby isle. (Either cornstarch powder or aloe powder). AMAZING. The powder dries up the wetness and keeps you dry. Great to use under you belly if you have folds their too or between your legs for chaffing.
LUME deodorant works after washing and drying off the area. It keeps the odor away and the excretion of fluid that causes the burning sensation from the fluid. It occurs in the crease of the leg/thigh panty area. A&D Ointment and diaper creams are effective. But Lume is more effective for longer times.
I break out in hives sometimes under the right breast where I had a partial mastectomy 4/1/20. Ever since I had chemo and radiation treatments, my skin is very sensitive. I found out that diaper rash ointment works best.
Wonderful information. I have been suffering for years. Sometimes it flares up under my breasts so bad. It gets painful and itchy. I call it soggy bra syndrome. I try to remember to remove my bra when I am done working when it is warm. Then I put on a tshirt and fold it up under my breasts, but it remains warm and sweaty for hours. I will try what I can. The Dr gave me Ketoconozole but it remains so greasy, I don't like it .
Thank you, Dr. Dray! I didn't know that the rash under my breasts even had a name! I was just calling it "heat rash". I shower daily and very well under the breasts and other skin folds and apply corn starch immediately. That works wonders for me. But thank you for mentioning other options!
Thank you for this video. This lovely syndrome has recently befallen me. The drying cream helps. I put the lotrimin cream on top of it w some Argan oil which is supposed to help w yeast. It's soothing but as soon as I stop using it comes right back. Going to try the lotrimin spray and the liners on my bra. It's so annoying and does become painful. Dr. Dray, a topic you may want to address sometime to is hypertrophic scarring from burns. I'm a 2nd and 3rd degree burn survivor and had it badly enough to require plastic surgery. It is awful.
Wearing sports bras during workout class has been a big problem for me. I use an anti-chafing stick or anti-perspirant. The key really is to keep the area as dry as possible.
Soon after I stopped wearing my bra around the house I started getting the rash. Baby powder with corn starch, the foot spray stuff works really well too. Go back to wearing a camisole or sports bra for every day. Wash them every couple days and air dry.
I use plain coconut oil I use it for deodorant too. I add a drop of essential oil like lavender to a small canning jam jar or any 2-4 oz jar. I put it on morning and evening in hot weather. I down below and sometimes on waist where underwear elastic holds in moisture. Coconut oil is anti bacterial and fungal. I have used it for years.
I have tried every thing mentioned and used hankies and then special under Breast pads. I finally decided I needed something thicker and started using 1 short, white, cotton, athletic sock under each boob. They are ticker and more absorbant and have solved the problem. No more rashes!
I use Deluxe Bamboo More of Me to Love Bra Liner (3 pack) in the summer. I machine wash them in a net bag and dry flat. Very helpful. I will try some of these other suggestions, too.
I used to get a rash - a lot - then I discovered how to prevent it - it burns on inflamed skin, but after treatment, to prevent it coming back, magnesium oil works really well, have not has a rash in years. Just a small amount works.
The best thing is Chrystal body deodorant stick. It kills bacteria but has no odor and doesn’t look or feel like you have anything on. I’ve used it for years. You can use it anywhere you could get a rash

I live in FL. During the summer, I use Balmex-clears up overnight!!!!
What is wrong with petroleum?
I used to get that when I was overweight. I used an antiperspirant, deodorant roll on under my breasts. It stopped the sweating and was not as superwarm. My skin condition went away.
Currently my problem 😫
@ I was obese with C breasts. The antiperspirant / deodorant kept that area dry and prevented a yeast infection. It is better to prevent a problem than work on a cure. It worked perfectly for me.
I do the same thing and it works marvelous for me. I live in the humid South in Alabama USA 🇺🇸.
Gold bond power is great.
THESE are not around anymore
Where are you? 12 and 14 are not band sizes in the US and if I think of them as metric equivalents they make less sense!
Thank you , Dr. Dray very much because todays content helps . I am currently going thru contact dermatitis.
Happy Tuesday Dr Dray so excited to be here i live for this❤️
Happy Tuesday!

AGAIN, THANK YOU
Also try a cornstarch based body powder. It helps me alot!!!!
@@coloradopackratprepper thank you so much
What about using corn starch (not for any infection), but for comfort & to absorb sweat?
Thats what i used as did my grandmother who was a RN in pharmacy in a hospital.
When I start to get an under breast rash, I find applying some Panoxyl while in the shower for a few days in a row works
Thank you.
I have used Lotrim powder foot spray for my issues. Works for me.
HS ?
Great info. Have psoriasis so watch any breakout..including those from friction against the under part of my breasts. I wash evey day. If I have strips@irritation I use neosporin or my psoriasis creams.
I have used DEGREE antiperspirant for years! Also the new body spray deodorants work well also!
I have lupus and I get all kinds of rashes it is very frustrating nothing works I normally get rashes right before a flare .. thank you for this information ..
I know the feeling. I often use Benadryl at night. After taking of underwear and bra i itch everywhere.
Any anti fungal powder works great, much better than cream, IMO.
For years, i have used flannelette cloths cut into squares about 4x4" & placed under breasts. This works well. But a must is daily washing w soap & water.
I'm so glad you did a video on this. Thank you 😊
I also have HS and psoriasis which causes boils as well as rash under my breasts.
I use an antiperspirant deoderan under there. It works great!
Amazing video Dr Dray; very helpful as always 🙂🥰
Greetings Dr Dray hope u r well n Yesss this Vid is Gonna b so Informative🔥n Happy Tuesday😀n Thanks👍…..
Morning!
After suffering with rash under breaststroke for a long time,I tried all sorts of creams...but the one thatvworks for me was caster oil.😊
Castor oil is working fir me as well😊

Thanks again for sharing more great information… this is so needed!!
❤Cortisone cream clears up my heat rashes in that area, when nothing else helped❤
I use anti-fungal shampoo in the skin folds. I let is sit for a few minutes in the shower. I then rinse and follow with anti-fungal powder or spray.
Me too. The secret is being preventative. And not cross contamination when it flares!!
Great to use under you belly if you have folds their too or between your legs for chaffing.
shellywhite.. Thanks for the info 👍.
Thank you! It is so embarrassing when I have a flair up and the powders are difficult to get in the right place.
I break out in hives sometimes under the right breast where I had a partial mastectomy 4/1/20. Ever since I had chemo and radiation treatments, my skin is very sensitive. I found out that diaper rash ointment works best.
I needed this video, thank you so much!!
But thank you for mentioning other options!
gaĺiagoze.
I call it sweat rash.😅😂
Thank you for this video. This lovely syndrome has recently befallen me. The drying cream helps. I put the lotrimin cream on top of it w some Argan oil which is supposed to help w yeast. It's soothing but as soon as I stop using it comes right back. Going to try the lotrimin spray and the liners on my bra. It's so annoying and does become painful.
Dr. Dray, a topic you may want to address sometime to is hypertrophic scarring from burns. I'm a 2nd and 3rd degree burn survivor and had it badly enough to require plastic surgery. It is awful.
Treat with antifungal cream and maintain with anti fungal powder a quick puff under each keeps them dry and rash free
Wearing sports bras during workout class has been a big problem for me. I use an anti-chafing stick or anti-perspirant. The key really is to keep the area as dry as possible.
So glad this video popped up on my page. Thank you
Soon after I stopped wearing my bra around the house I started getting the rash. Baby powder with corn starch, the foot spray stuff works really well too. Go back to wearing a camisole or sports bra for every day. Wash them every couple days and air dry.
I dealt with this for 18 months i now use a mixture of bicarb soda and cornflour really does help
Coconut oil. It works really well. . No chemicals.
Do you apply the coconut oil after the rash appears or after every shower as a preventive
@@SherrieElaine53After every shower. I haven't had a rash in years.
Organic is best. I live in Florida, it gets hot here.
@@Donnahodgins thank you. I am going to give it a try 😊
Happy Tuesday Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x💙🤩🎄
In general you provide very useful info.thank you
I use a creamy petroleum jelly. More like a lotion. For the anti fungal, I use Athlete's foot cream. Very lightly spread across there and it works.
You look gorgeous Dr. Day!
Thank you for this informative video! ❤️🎄
Hi Dr Dray
Thank you for the breakdown 🙏🎉
Thanks for watching!
Shingles can also cause a rash under breast, typically on one side.
Ouch!
A light dusting of corn search works wonders.
I am a man whom developed 34C breasts and got what you just said!!
박사님 안녕하세요! Happy Tuesday !!!
Good morning Dr Dray ❤
Morning!
I had this over the summer. I took ACV which seemed to help
I bought bamboo liners under my breasts in the Summer. They really help to keep the area dry. Made all the difference in the world!
Where would I find those?
Which on is your favorite liner?
Nystatin powder
