It's Glitchmas time, and on Day 1, we'll be taking a look at the surprisingly stable Sonic R.

Just wanted to kick this mini series off with a short statement about the project.
It’s been a bit of an experiment to see how many videos I could do in a short space of time and something I’ve been planning for a few months.

Rewatching because it's the first of December.
I love how in the Mario Racing games when you get out of bounds you get put back on the track, but in Sonic R, you just stay in the void most of the time.
At least Lakitu is not on Sonic games or Chao that does the failsafe out of bounds.

Accel Rider X You got me there, maybe Silver is fast in the Rivals universe, but even Knuckles and Tails are as fast as Sonic, so I don't know .-.
Competitive balance is easier to maintain when the game is treated like a platformer first, it seems. When it's an actual real race first, then you need to balance it somehow. Would you rather have people wonder why Sonic is using vehicles and airboards to race in a vehicle or airboards competition or have to come up with a way to play a on-foot Sonic that people can accept without claiming OP or Nerf?
What's the song on Amy's part? I could never find that song, can you name it for me please?

Sonic R was one of my childhood favorite games! I used to love playing this with my bro switching around each race. I remember a golden sonic on this? It's probably because of the games simplicity why I love it so much.

Try finding glitches in Xenoblade Chronicles X. Just look at that game their literally no glitches in that game. It's a literally perfect :D

+Mudkip971 An enemy near the entrance to Oblivia occasionally spawns face-first in a wall and is unable to move.
There is a formation of rocks along the entrance to Cauldros that may get your character stuck in an infinite freefall with no way to escape save for fastravel or death by monsters.
There are several mountains near the north west of Primordia whose textures do not reach all the way down to their base, allowing you to look through the mountain.
Nothing game-breaking or even very interesting glitch-wise, but it has a few oversights.
The game itself is pretty freakin' fun, either way.

***** I've looked around and nobody else has had the same things happen on their copies of the game, so it could just be my combination of the performance packs causing strange load times for the "Monster in the wall" one. (I don't have the space for all of the packs AND smash bros data!)

Although not too many were comical, this was another successful episode of Son of a Glitch.
The glitch where you run round in circles to complete laps reminded me of GT5, was fun all in itself as you raced other players into the glitch area, to the starting line & to start doing donuts in the right spot so the lap counter goes up. Fun times, n easy money.

I freaking love Sonic R! It was a huge part of my childhood. I get sad about all the hate it gets, but I have the whole soundtrack memorized! Don't judge me!
I remember finding some of these Out of Bounds glitches when I was a kid, and thus, I thought I was the only one who knew about them... then you showed the first glitch and I freaked out because I used to get out of bounds there too!!
There was an OoB glitch in the factory near the beginning of the level at the area the track splits off to two paths that I found when I was a kid that isn't featured here. Looks like some of my childhood glitches remain a secret after all! Haha!

Sonic is in a car because that is what the rules of the competition called for. Similarly to the Riders series where he uses Extreme Gear because that was the competition called for. Sonic can't really prove that he drives well if he's just rolling around at the speed of sound all the time. Also, Sonic Drift has a bone to pick with you. Yes, I am aware that you were just making a joke.

In 2015? It was already horrible. It's been horrible since that cosmic panda update from 2011.
I like to think Sonic is in a car because he KNOWS it's a car race, and he knows he'd win on foot, and he's not a cheater, and races fairly.

For the amy glitch - now you can do it with any character.
Ok to the whole "why is sonic in a car" arguement against the racing games (especially the good ones like all stars 1 and transformed) I point you to clement's comment on the subject. "Sonic is in a car because its the fucking rules of the race." When people race in nascar or formula one, they don't get to pick whatever vehicle they want to race in. You don't bring a jet plane to a car race. Just like how sonic can't run in a cart racing game.
I and my sister found (years ago) a similar out of bound glitch in Radical City.
Go to the big "Spring Slot" machine.
On your left there is a little corner, edge thing.
Stand in there and move a little bit to the left or right. Sooner or later you will be out of bound too ^^
