Being a kid from the 70's and a comic fan this show was just so much fun to watch. Can't help but miss those days of just being a kid and not having a care in the world... 😎
I remember an episode where Billy is making a hero sandwich with a lot of mixed-up ingredients. Mentor said something about anyone eating a sandwich like that is not a hero, but a martyr! LOL
I wish they had had more seasons than this and put Jackson bostwick back on. He got injured in an episode and went to the doctor. He got fired because they thought he was wanting more money, he sued and won probably for breach of contract. They had to pay him the rest of the season. 😊
"Try smelling sunshine sometimes!". I feel like that needs to be said every time there's and opportunity to say it. It's the kind of thing you say to someone and then walk away and let them ponder on it. Anyway as a kid I didn't realize how serious this show was back then. Also I remember that I thought that Billy was Native American and turned into a white Captain Marvel. I was four or five and had no concept of race. I didn't know I was black until a white person told me. I also remember having Shazaam underoos and my older brother had Superman underoos. Something about that made me think she didn't care as much for me as she did for him.
Of course, I remember Michael Gray: Billy Batson, Les Tremayne: Mentor, Jackson Bostwick: Captain Marvel Seasons 1 & 2, John Davey: Captain Marvel Season 3.
it was the 70s i remember seeing in the comic books a lot of characters having sideburns for a while even superman but they got rid of them by the mid 70s
I remember Jackson said at a comic con that Filmation, which produced SHAZAM, was on a shoestring budget and would have to pay DC additional money to license out Mary or CM3 (Freddy) or any of the supervillains.
Trivia note: Black Adam's first comic book appearance was in Marvel Family #1 in 1945. His second appearance was more than 30 years later in Shazam #28 in 1977, after the Shazam TV series ended.
I missed the first Captain Marvel. They just slipped in the second Captain Marvel thinking no one would notice. I thought the first Captain Marvel or the actor playing him died. It wasn't until recently that I googled or TH-camd and found out he was fired for missing a day of work. He had to go to the doctor or something. They fired him thinking he wanted more money. People are growing up now not knowing a time without Google, TH-cam, and Facebook. What will they I vent next that we cannot live without?
@@tommytwostep9753 I was reminded of this comment. No,no, no, man .. I'm turning the clock back, I just turned 50 and it's o ... wtf, just got a cramp and random leg pain typing Huh? Ok. The kid got so close he could have hummed it into that…what’s that music app named after the quote “oh, elders, fleet and strong and wise, appear before my seeking eyes?” (See what I did there 😅)

Never missed this show. Awesome show!!!
My Saturday was ruined if I didn't get my Captain Marvel fix.
I never watched it and never missed it. 🤣
@@tonyfelder1206 love this show
This is the real Captain Marvel
Yes
We all wished that we could call Captain Marvel when we were in trouble. Shazam!
Yes.
I sure did

They'll always be my Billy Batson and Captain (Shazam) marvel
Better than most super hero stuff these days. :)
Have u seen the new one?
Everything is a historic artifact . . . eventually . . .
Zeus here looks like the Marvel Comics depiction of him.

That's ponderous, man. Really ponderous.
I had the pussy ass Aquaman Underoos. Leave to my mother to get the ONE style nobody liked. Green bottom and yellow tshirt.
Love this show 😊
i love this show
I remember that one boy from Salem's Lot.
Of course, I remember Michael Gray: Billy Batson, Les Tremayne: Mentor, Jackson Bostwick: Captain Marvel Seasons 1 & 2, John Davey: Captain Marvel Season 3.
John Davey was a fat joke, should have never put on the suit
DC Universe Online has this series.
In 1974 everybody cut their own hair
50 years later you got those shitty tiktok curly haircut
🤣🤣
They should have played the scene where Billy listens to terrible rock music, and Mentor says, "I'm sure even Beethoven could hear that."
Got the dvds!!
Never imagined Captain Marvel having sideburns
Those sideburns were rad weren't they?
it was the 70s i remember seeing in the comic books a lot of characters having sideburns for a while even superman but they got rid of them by the mid 70s
It was the 70s, bro!! I remember them 😆😆😆😆😆
At 6 years old this was my 💩 back in 1974.
Wow didn't know Zac Efron's dad played Shazam.
The acting is just as miserable.
His name is Captain Marvel. "Shazam" is a cheap knock-off "created" by Geoff Johns.
@@CynthiaJFinnegan copyright issue that's why captain marvel is now shazam
Same here
1974 wow! !!! It was that long ago. ....
a cheap, hastily made sat-am show that still had worthy performances by professional people.
They should have had Black Adam or Doctor Sivana in it.
Never mind them, where were Freddy and Mary?
I remember Jackson said at a comic con that Filmation, which produced SHAZAM, was on a shoestring budget and would have to pay DC additional money to license out Mary or CM3 (Freddy) or any of the supervillains.
I would have loved to have seen Dr. Sivana and Mr. Mind in this series, that would have been great.
Trivia note: Black Adam's first comic book appearance was in Marvel Family #1 in 1945. His second appearance was more than 30 years later in Shazam #28 in 1977, after the Shazam TV series ended.
It seems like every episode he had on that same biege jacket... 😂😂😂😂
Mentor wore that in every episode, like Billy wore that long sleeved red shirt
I wonder if Billy and Mentor ever bathed.

There Was Only One True Captain Marvel.

After watching this I have to go and watch James at 15.
And here I thought MCU had the best writers
The young man driving the car in episode one was Bobby who dies at the end of Saturday Night fever.... I often feel like Chad as I am disabled...
Using a blind kid for a hunting dog! LMAO!
Please tell me
Where we download or watch shazam tv series all seasons all episodes

0:15 was that the voice of Lance LeGualt ??
This show is Tubi
2:15 Let's see if you feel the same way when it's your turn. Punk.
CLASSICO
I used to watch this show as a kid and I never realized how bad the acting was.
Surely, it would have been cheaper to hire real actors to play the Gods, than use Animation?
