    So happy to see you back making videos. Having been born and raised in Germany to a German mother and American father, I very much missed my mothers cooking since moving to the US. I’ve made many of your recipes and they take me back to my childhood. Appreciate your effort and look forward to future videos. Servus.

    I recall a family friend from Hungary who made something like this but with cherries. I was very little at the time. I still remember the how good they tasted.

    Nice to see you back again. I sent time in Germany with my Oma when I was a child, she was a fabulous cook and grew almost all her own vegetables, raised rabbits and geese to eat. My mother came to the USA when she was young and cooked some of the German food here and tried to grow her own vegetables too. I make a plum cake every year in August when the plums come out. I love it. Thanks for sharing your recipe with us. Hope to see you again soon. Stay well and safe.

    I made this tonight with the vanilla sauce, so many different flavors and textures, but all complimentary. Delicious! Thank you for making the effort and putting these videos together.

    That dish looks very tasty! I have always made plum dumplings with a yeast dough and then served with melted butter and a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. I haven’t heard of plum dumplings made with a potato and flour dough. I don’t make them often but but I am making them for dinner tonight and will still use a yeast dough this time as I don’t have any semolina in the house, but for next time I look forward to making them using your recipe. Thanks for posting this!

    DANKE! My Oma made these and I've always wanted to know how. The only difference is she used a cinnamon sugar in the plum. Thank you again.

Lecker lecker!

    My mother used to make apricot dumplings in summer. She used a more liquid brown butter and breadcrumb sauce over them. I miss her cooking ❤️

      Just look for "pflaumenkuchen" or as we call it zwetschgenkuchen, both are the same thing, just different names for different regions.

      I tried that but they are not very good after they cooled. They must be eaten freshly made to taste well and have the right consistency.

    Can you also switch the recipe between English and German, that would be really helpful if not too much trouble!😊

    • @MyGermanRecipes
      @MyGermanRecipes  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm afraid I can only make the recipes written in English but the measurements can be switched from metric to US measurements right under the ingredients list of the recipe blog.

      Die Version kenne ich auch aber hier in den USA und vielen anderen Ländern gibt es keinen Topfen (Quark), daher schien diese Variante besser geeignet. Aber sonst gilt auch bei mir "alles schmeckt besser mit Quark!" :-)
