ROFL I still remember seeing this sketch as a teenager. Back then, Fast Forward was THE Australian sketch show and I would stay up to watch it each week. Other shows that would follow never quite matched up to the wit and sarcasm of the series. The discontinuation of the show left a comedic void that would only coming close to being addressed by way of The Shaun Micallef Show. I recently tried to watch episodes of D-Generation but the humour didn't quite worked for me as I move towards my fifties. Fast Forward somehow managed to do what other Australian sketch and live comedy shows failed to do, and that was be timeless. The jokes still fall.
Used to remember going with work colleagues after work on a Thursday or Friday night to HSV7 studios on Dorcas St, Sth Melbourne to watch them record Fast Forward several times. Late 80’s/early 90’s. Such fun.
What I don't understand is all this great comedy come out of Melbourne and had since we started television . What it was also the birthplace of the where offended and we hate everything that destroyed our culture as well
I'll come on seriously I think 5 hour news programs to build up Australian airtime and endless cooking shows only to be broken up by people trying to be more Australian than Steve Irwin building houses is much better lol
