you have some of the best and better videos for these ice bear. appreciated very much sir. i have the gen 4 for about a week now. thanks for the videos.
I have a 2020 Gen 4 maddog. Every single time, and I mean every single time that I have tried to refill the oil after changing it, it has overflowed. I've gone slow, I've had it to just a slight drizzle, and the results have always been the same. To overcome this, I bought an oil can. You know those ones you fill with the flexible hose, and the little trigger to squeeze? I use that, and I have never had a problem since. I generally have to stop, and refill the canister six times, and that gets me full. But every time I have tried to use it any type of funnel, whether it be flexible hose, straight hose, solid hose. The results were always the same. A big mess on the floor. I use a secondary oil can, onewith a small solid hose, to fill the gear oil with. Awesome video. Thanks for showing us the proper way to change the oil. A lot of new maddog owners don't have a lot of under the hood experience with fixing, and/or doing the maintenance on their new scooters. This video definitely helps
I found it interesting that you mentioned you put just over 800 ml of oil in your bike. I just bought an Icebear Vision 49cc. I hear most people say a scooter that size takes 750 ml. However, mine takes 0.8L or 800 ml. It even came with a sticker stating as such placed right next to the dipstick from factory. I change the oil before my first start and I’m glad I did. The factory oil came out very dark and only about 700 ml of quantity. Good video by the way. Thanks for making it.
Gonna be doing my first oil change on my gen 1 maddog. I took it out finally since it’s been hibernating since Nov last year 😂. But I got it back up & running. Didn’t realize how fun it is to work on this scooter. I am not mechanically inclined at all. I couldn’t believe I charged the battery 😂 I was scared I was gonna shock myself lol. This is the first time I’m actually working on an engine lol. I cleaned the stock carb, relocated the stock fuel pump close to the gas tank , swapped the fuel lines, new spark plug, took off the canister air filter, took off the cage that was on the gas tank, charged the battery & today going to change the oil & trans oil & it’s crazy because now my start up isn’t shit like when I first bought it, I would have to throttle it to get it started before it bogged out, then my top speed was only like 43-44 which disappointed me but now since I did all everything I got to 50mph against the wind & bumpy ass road lol so I’m excited to keep working on my maddog. Everything is stock but just ordered the orange cdi, ignition coil for the first upgrades then next might change the tires or CVT. I’m hoping in the long run to hit 60mph if I can get 65 that would be icing on the cake but yeah been following you for a year trying to get my knowledge up on this bike. How’s your bike doing
I sold mine actually got a crazy good offer on it. But kinda miss it now I just have a basic normal 150cc it's okay and all but the mad dog was fun the only thing I really like about the normal scoots is they have the compartment under the seat lol but good man I'm glad some of the videos can help 👌🙏
Rspec Nick yeah its not easy carrying anything with you haha. I’m gonna actually plan to do uber eats / doordash to make some side cash with the maddog. I’m gonna invest in so delivery backpacks but for now I got a insulated bag that fits on top the gas tank & just bungee cord it for extra security and use my legs to keep it extra extra secure 😂.
You and I have the same Ice bear ruckus.. I checked for the oil and we are supposed to put 10W40 Non Synthetic.. How was it running after you put the synthetic oil in it? Also Im trying to do a big bore kit on my bike too.. Please video it when you do so you could help me out.. I bought the kit off Ebay but I sent it back because the exhaust did not fit.. any good suggestions on where to get new parts for the scooter?
Rolling wrench Denver is the spot for your parts and upgrades for performance, The RuckShop is another place for nice upgrades then there’s Chuck us life Good luck fellow maddogger
I would change it. The oil they send in them is pretty cheap. In all of mine I use rotella t4 oil it's thicker and helps with heat since there air cooled for the trans I used synthetic for that. But if your anxious and wanna take it out for a quick ride it should be fine
brandon jasorkowski what’s your impression on these scooters, my wife was like why didn’t you get the $500 Tao Tao regular looking mopeds, I was like exactly that lol I wanted to not get a regular looking moped. Everyone in my town thinks it’s a motorcycle I’m like nope haha
@@kamakanani0 I think they look sick for sure. When I had mine I got nothing but questions about it the only time I got negative comments is when people ask oh it's not a Honda ruckus or why don't you get a real bike lol
Hey there, didn't you do a 150cc engine swap on one of your videos? I'm trying to put a new gy6 150 on my icebear t6 trike which came with a 50cc. Only problem is the motor mounts on the 50 are on the bottom and the 150 mounts are located on the top. I just bought a mig welder but am unsure where to weld the new mounts to the motor and how I should fabricate them. Any words of wisdom? I really appreciate you. Where are you located? Thanks brother
Yes that's me lol I actually used the mounts from the 150 donor scooter. Basically just chopped the old welds off the 150 frame and swapped them over to the 50cc frame. You do have to make sure its centered and not slanted but I imagine on a trike it would be alittle easier to align it. Honestly it was alot easier then I thought it would be.
@@RspecNick thanks so much Nick. Yeah mine is going to be alot harder than a two wheel. I have to weld a cross bar and then a couple smaaller bars down to the I'm outta state back mon afternoon. Would love to talk to you I'll try to call you on My way back mon. If we were to agree on something when could you start? Ty I will call you mon . Yeah it's gonna be a bitch but I gotta put it in there. Tired of people passing me and alsmost getting into a head on collision with oncoming traffic. I'll keep you updated. I bougbt a new 150 qmb and put the 171 bbk on just like yous. I can't wait to see what it'll do. Peace brother
You can use synthetic or what alot of other guys run is 15w40 rottella. I use rottella 15w40 on my one scooter most of the 150cc scooters are the 157QMJ motor
how many miles before u change oil? just got my maddog. and what type of oil do you put? by the way i got 100cc icebear maddog 2021 gen 5. ty for your help🙏🏽
You will probably notice a few metal shavings and maybe a chunk of metal in the strainer but it's normal. It should take alittle under 1 quart of oil to fill it. Roughly like .85/.90 of a whole quart
@@gimzgomez5195 most 9inch led bars work. You can use the ruck shop or trs or any some you have to modify the bracket some come with them but you pay for that for sure. Last one I saw with harness, resistor and bracket was like 180

Yea most of them say 750ml but 800ml is that sweet spot in most of them for sure.
@@RspecNick that’s good to hear. I had doubts at first since it shows above the full line on the dipstick once I placed the 800 ml.
