      Choice 1: Do not react. (too weak)
      Choice 2: Confront calmly (not the style)
      Choice 3: Kill right off (too much)
      Choice 4: Create an elaborate masterplan which includes at least three variables and could go wrong 1000 ways but trust and use your wit which will result in hour long intimidation and a full one minute of fight of the guy

    Jane = THE ULTIMATE CHAOTIC NEUTRAL EXAMPLE EVER

    • @casey6556
      @casey6556 5 ปีที่แล้ว +175

      Nah, he's Chaotic Good. He has no respect for rules and will troll people mercilessly, but in the end he believes in justice; there's a reason he chooses to consult for the police and it isn't the money (since he's fabulously wealthy).

    • @DwarfyDoodad
      @DwarfyDoodad 5 ปีที่แล้ว +51

      @@casey6556 He's neutral evil or chaotic evil. He doesn't care about the law, and he doesn't actually necessarily care about the ramifications of his actions on people's. Everything he does serves one purpose. Killing Red John. He doesn't care about the crimes he helps solve. He certainly doesn't care about the lives he tears apart in doing so. In this episode alone he costs at least one if not two or all three CBI agents their jobs all because he wants to work with specific people, not the ones he is told he has to. In the episodes before this he coldly shot and killed a man he thought was Red John and only defended himself and manipulated people to get away with murder because he realized that the man he killed wasn't Red John.
      Patrick Jane is *not* a good person, he is a sociopath. Everything he does, including consulting with the CBi serves one purpose; to murder someone. If Patrick could have killed Red John without spending years hunting him or working with the CBI he would have in a heart beat. Even after he literally gets away with murder twice he doesn't change his personality or the way he continues to torment people when he assists on FBI cases. He tends towards more Neutral than Chaotic on that axis because it's easier to work with the Law because it gives him access to resources and knowledge he wouldn't have on his own. But everything he does is purely to watch the chaos unravel from his words or actions which is funny to him. He falls on Evil on that axis because he cares about no one but himself and his own ends. Even his preferred partners are people he can manipulate with less effort and who will go along with his chaotic actions. Friendship is secondary to him as opposed to pawns who he can manipulate and who trust him. I am not counting anything past mid Season 6 or all of Season 7 because it doesn't necessarily change how he acts on cases, it just means his outright manipulation of his coworkers is lessened as long as he gets his way.
      He is Neutral tending towards Chaotic for the entire show, and Evil only showing any shift towards Neutral and even that is not outweighed by his actions outside of his relationship with Lisbon. Under no spectrum is this sociopath considered "Good".

    • @Birthday888
      @Birthday888 5 ปีที่แล้ว +94

      @@DwarfyDoodad I'd disagree with you on that count. He's more neutral than evil on that particular axis. If he truly did care for no one but himself, then why does he want to kill Red John? He truly did care about his family, his desire for revenge and his immense guilt over their deaths alone speaks to his humanity. His abusive father had to threaten him to scam a dying girl and her grandmother. He donates several hundreds of dollars worth of gems anonymously to a charity and pays for the liver transplant of an elderly mother of a casino worker he barely knew. And I seriously doubt that those agents were fired over a brief tussle. They were probably reprimanded and taken off the case.
      All in all, Patrick Jane has a flexible moral code, particularly when it comes to Red John, yes. But he has lines on that code. And even when he crosses those lines, it's not like he skips over them and never looks back.

    I learned from my experience that oftentimes you must *_not_* lie.
    Tell them the truth, but say it in the way that it will have multiple meanings depending on their preconception.
    Nothing works better than half-concealed truth, and people *_loves_* to have doubt.
    And Jane knows that. 😂

    The funny part is that Jane would agree with you. He would never say he is a "kind" or even a "good" person. What he truly is is a deeply flawed man who did a lot of bad things and is trying to atone for them. In conjunction with that he has one ultimate goal (Revenge) which he is willing to do terrible things to do. It's an long running battle for Jane's soul, good and evil, redemptions and revenge. We'll see which wins.

    This is a great example of psychological bullying (Head games) and the potential of organized harassment.
    ••Bullying is usually seen as acts or verbal comments that could psychologically or 'mentally' hurt or isolate a person in the workplace. Sometimes, bullying can involve negative physical contact as well. Bullying usually involves repeated incidents or a pattern of behaviour that is intended to intimidate, offend, degrade or humiliate a particular person or group of people. It has also been described as the assertion of power through aggression.
    ••Head games ~ Covert actions based on ulterior motives that are used to deceive, manipulate, and control another person.
    Although signs or "tells" of these actions become noticeable or even obvious to the victim, they are not only denied by the manipulator, but are referred to as ridiculous and it is inferred that your thought process is somewhat unstable for having such conclusions.
    ••Targeted Individual (Ti) ~ A person who becomes a target for various forms of harassment.
    ••Harassment ~ Any repeated or continuing uninvited contact that serves no useful purpose beyond creating alarm, annoyance, or emotional distress.
    ••Stalking ~ Criminal activity consisting of the repeated following and/or harassing of another person. It is a distinctive form of activity composed of a series of actions that taken individually are not illegal. But, when these actions are coupled with an intent to instill stress, fear, or injury then they may constitute a pattern of behavior that is absolutely criminal.
    ••Gangstalking ~ Stalking that is organized and carried out by two or more people. An extreme form of harassment, gangstalking consists of psychological torment which can negatively affect or even destroy every aspect of a targeted individual's life.
    ••Gaslighting ~ A form of deception where information is altered or selectively omitted to favor the manipulator, with the intent of making victims doubt their own memory, perception and sanity. Actions may range from denial that previous deception ever occurred, up to the staging of bizarre events by the abusers with the intention of disorienting the victims.
    This psychology term is derived from Patrick Hamilton's 1938 play Gaslight, about a woman whose husband slowly manipulates her into believing that she is going insane.
    ••Micro expression ~ The sudden flash on a person's face that reveals their true emotion, instead of the one they're using to cover with.
    ••Vilifying the victim ~ A psychological tactic that puts a victim on the defensive while simultaneously masking the intent of the manipulator. When malicious actions are directed towards a targeted individual (Ti), the manipulator falsely accuses the victim as being the abuser in response when they stand up for or defend themselves.
    ••Reciprocal liking retraction ~ A psychological bullying tactic used to emotionally torment a targeted individual.
    How this works is a person or group will initially act friendly towards a person, creating a bond. Then, when an undetermined amount of time has passed, the abusers will ignore, mock, and ridicule their target causing anything from annoyance or frustration to emotional trauma or suicide.
    ••Duping delight ~ The expression on a person's face showing the enjoyment felt from mocking or deceiving another person.
    ••Learned helplessness ~ A mental state of powerlessness that overwhelms a person who endures reoccurring stressful situations that are not responded to correctly, making you believe that you are unable to control or change things.
