I very much so love the fact that Disney had a whole thing planned! "We are just on rollers" (I couldn't hear her all the way so I think that's what she said XD)It really does show the Disney magic
I remember when this happened. A news chopper was overhead shortly after, showing all the "newbies" stuck in traffic, bailing from the parking structure. I would have just stuck it out and enjoyed the ambiance of Disneyland. After all....they didn't close the resort, they only shut down the rides. I'm sure all the restaurants and outdoor entertainment were up and running as usual fairly quickly, and it would have been interesting to see what rides they may have decided to reopen! Talk about short lines, haha!
This quake threw us off the couch while watching the hangover part 2. My house was yellow tagged and I counted over 10 cracks in my house. 1 mile from epicenter... I still have flashbacks... Scary stuff. My kitchen looked like a scene from paranormal activity when all the cabinets fly open and all the shit flys out. My fridge was pushed out of place by 2 feet. :( I'd rather deal with hurricanes... At least u get a warning...
I'm glad that no one was hurt. When you consider how many people are jammed into such a small space (think mid summer!), I'm sure Disney worries about what would happen if a MAJOR event struck close by. I always think that they have their act together when it comes to managing crowds.... but what about mayhem when structures start falling?
Yeah, I wonder what would have happened if that Northridge earthquake hit during the daytime instead of the wee hours of the morning. A 7.0 during one of the busiest times of the year at Disneyland would be really bad. The cast members did a good job of directing people to stay away from the sidewalks in case of any debris was to fall. And I think they acted swiftly. I just hope there isn't a "Big One" left for the future.
Depends on the severity, and the type of waves that hit you. A small quake can feel like a gentle rolling sensation under your feet, or light bouncing. A larger quake can feel like the rumbling you experience on old wooden roller coasters, but in one place instead of following the curve of the track. For the really big ones, that feeling can get so severe that it's hard to stand up. Imagine a mosh pit, but without people.
we were at Anaheim at the time eating at a restaurant. for someone from Australia where we don't get quakes it was pretty crazy...the whole restaurant was shaking and some people hid under the table...lucky as were suppose to go Disneyland that day but decided to go on the Saturday...I would of been bummed if it closed early as the lines at Disneyland are crazy! good story to tell the family when we got back to Oz
Yeah, I kind of just got there too. And there were a lot of people in the park that night because of the spring break crowd and some cheerleading competition. I'm just glad nothing crazy happened.
Thanks. I don't believe anyone at the park was hurt. I know my cousin who lives closer to the epicenter had things fall off shelves and felt about 10 aftershocks throughout the night. I'm just glad it wasn't anything really major.
We were inside one of the shops near the exit, glass was falling and me from being from Colorado had no idea what was happening. Scared the crap out of me!
I was drinking with a friend at espn zone. When the eathquake hit on easter a few years back...lmao..i leand in and said is that an earthquake or is it the beer....somany people left the park. So when the rides opend back up it was nice and empty..
Ugh I was there too , I was at the pin store , when all of the sudden all the pins , lanyards started shaking so hard , & we were paying and we just left quickly I was really scared tbh it was my first earthquake ever ! I'm from Las Vegas so that doesn't happen at all :(
Same with the Animation Academy. It was either that it shook for a long time or that the rollers under the building were still moving. Either way, that was quite the experience to be in.
Yeah we all had to leave the building for precautionary reasons. We left the park because it was already night time and didn't know when everything would be up and running again.
Ha, don't feel bad for us. Quakes are a common thing here but it's usually a small shake here and there. Last night's quake was a pretty long lasting one. It felt like a good 15 - 20 seconds of shaking.
HomeTownFitteds as someone from the bay area, they're even worse up north. in southern california they aren't too common, but the bay gets them fairly often. we had a 6.1 about a month ago that scared the shit out of me.
I WAS PICKIN UP CHICKS THEN THIS SHIT HAPPENED!! I was also on Soarin Over California top row when this happened. Everyone's seat shaked and suede side to side. We had to evacuate and everyone started screaming, Is there going to be another earthquake? It was crazy...
+rick charles Typically on ride breakdowns they would give you a pass to comeback to the ride, so I'm not sure how they would handle it if the whole park is down. I know that it was later at night when it happened so a lot of people just decided to leave. It could be a different story if it were earlier in the afternoon though.
C'mon really?? In my country a 5.1 magnitude earthquake it isn't a big deal, for us it's like a little ground movement lol. But I know what you felt at that moment, it's kind of terrifying (for me up to magnitude 7 lol), but you must to keep calm for an earthquake situation. Adiós ❤️

I think she was referring to the building base isolation device fitted to the building.

Mickey mouse pops out: get the fuck out. We dont want lawsuits. Hawha! :D
lol Me and My friend were riding Goofy's Sky School when it happened
That felt like I was watching something out of cloverfeild and a giant monster was going to start attacking.

Not something you see everyday. Thanks for the vlog!
Man I HATE earthquakes. I remember I was at my mom's house in my room. My dad and sister were at his house and they were right on top of it!!
+Beckie Niezen I already used to live in earthquakes. In past the 4 Years, I experienced earthquake 6 times and the strongest is 6.8
you from California?
What does an earthquake actually feel like?
IDK

Strangely enough, the ad before this video was from Diney Parks. Coinsidence?
I was there when this happened. I was watching Fantasmic

You were there? Haha. Nuts man. I was at work. It was pretty big man!
Yeah, I kind of just got there too. And there were a lot of people in the park that night because of the spring break crowd and some cheerleading competition. I'm just glad nothing crazy happened.
borsche28 and she wanted to go play xD
DANG! Glad you guys are safe and hopefully nobody got hurt.

I remember I was at sea world Orlando when there was a sudden lightning storm and we had to evacuate the areas with water... what about the fish? 🤔😫
lol. 😂🐠⚡️
That earthquake at La Habra was my first big one. It made a crack on the floor in the kitchen.
I was drinking with a friend at espn zone. When the eathquake hit on easter a few years back...lmao..i leand in and said is that an earthquake or is it the beer....somany people left the park. So when the rides opend back up it was nice and empty..
And on my birthday too. How lovely. :^ )
so did the parks close or was it temporary and re opened later?
Jonah Jarvis the parks did not close, but some attractions and buildings did for inspections to see if they were safe.

I was at disney land to exept we were in our hotel... Paradise Pier on the 14 floor
It must have been a lot of rolling. Was there an evacuation at the hotel?
No we went down the fire exit and our hotel room was at the end of the hall... Right next to the fire exit...
me and the fam were at the muppets 3d show...and the theatre shook like crazy...
Same with the Animation Academy. It was either that it shook for a long time or that the rollers under the building were still moving. Either way, that was quite the experience to be in.
What's funny is that I was in Disney WORLD during that time!😱
This is why California will always be known as the Earthquake State.
I was there it was on my birthday
Did they all have to leave the park or just leave the building??
Yeah we all had to leave the building for precautionary reasons. We left the park because it was already night time and didn't know when everything would be up and running again.
borsche28 Ok thank you!
Well I think that the whole place should just close. Why would it be still open?
I was there that day!! It was my first earthquake!
The 2014 one wasn't that bad where I'm from because it was a small aftershock
I was there and got stuck on haunted mansion in the elevator! ON MY BIRTHDAY!
oh wow. that's probably one of the scariest places to get stuck on, literally.
I would say they fell more like your on a bumpy rollarcaoster, also I was in a earthquake in disneyland but i dont think
it was that one
Thats crazy!!! I feel bad for you guys! I guess the quakes are becoming more common now for you guys..
Ha, don't feel bad for us. Quakes are a common thing here but it's usually a small shake here and there. Last night's quake was a pretty long lasting one. It felt like a good 15 - 20 seconds of shaking.
thats crazy man!

I rather have an evacuation 4 an earthquake, than just a dumb little rain drizzles. That happens at Disney World. :p
Lol Omg I was there it was my birthday we were stuck in the haunted mansion elevator for 30 mins lol what a magical disney trip
Yah earthquakes and black outs are the worst things that can happen there. Cause they have to shut down all the rides.
This what happened to my friend she went to Disneyland at the same time and there was a Earthquake
No way!! That's so dope
Did they give you tickets for another visit? I know the quake wasn't their fault but it would have been classy if they did.
+rick charles Typically on ride breakdowns they would give you a pass to comeback to the ride, so I'm not sure how they would handle it if the whole park is down. I Was At Disneyland When The Quake Happened
This was on my birthday..
happy belated birthday.
Which Disney park is this? :o
This is in Disneyland California Adventure.
borsche28 Ah, okay.
Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort
It's Disney World in Orlando, because you know how earthquakes hit Florida all the damn time.
First Name Last Name No, its in Disneyland the earthquake hit the LA Metropolitan area in March 24 or 28. Don't remember the day happened.
There should be a show called "disasters at disneyland"
Which includes when the fast pass machine breaks down (If it ever does).
this exactly happened on my birthday
you're a March 28 baby?
Umm yes
+ghost hunter oh ok...
All Of The Rides At Disneyland Were Closed During The Earthquake
C'mon really?? In my country a 5.1 magnitude earthquake it isn't a big deal, for us it's like a little ground movement lol. But I know what you felt at that moment, it's kind of terrifying (for me up to magnitude 7 lol), but you must to keep calm for an earthquake situation.

You get a shallow 5.1 subduction earthquake that goes up and down? you’re getting nervous.
It’s funny people are in awe that there was earthquake while they were at Disneyland. You’re still in California.
It's funny the evacuated for such a small shake unless your near the epicenter of the larger one.
The earthquake in your video is not a strong one like the 8.3 earthquake in San Francisco back in 1906.
OK. I'll try to make it stronger next time.
I surrvived a 7.1 migitude
Oh geez!
It was cool to have a earthquake on my birthday
Mine is on march 29th xD 1 day apart...
Same!!!!!!😅😅😅😅😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
T-tattletale that's me
hide under the table and cover your head with your arm like Japan
To me it's fake
I was actually there that day, it's not fake.
Lol. A 5.4 is nothing XD
Fake no earthquake in the video
how is it fake if they made an anoucement it could be after the earthquake you cant say oh look here comes an earthquake in five minutes let me film
egg productions not everything is fake. It wasn’t. You can look it up online if you are doubtful
@@abegxel He's talking about the video. There isn't an earthquake however there is a lot of 'camera' quake going on.
