- The 48-year-old original member of The Wiggles collapsed near the end of the fundraising reunion show before being resuscitated by Grace Jones, an off-duty nurse who'd been enjoying the set from the audience.
Former bandmate Murray Cook joined Weekend Sunrise to share an update on Greg's recovery.

To think that Grace likely saw The four original Wiggles on TV as a little kid maybe doing Hot Potato or Fruit Salad along side them as well as looking up to them for her to then years later as an adult help save the life of one of them is incredible!

Seeing the blue wiggle break down just broke my little childhood heart.
I love how Murray gives Grace's shoulder a little rub. His daughter is probably about Grace's age and he's so proud and grateful to the nurse who helped his friend. 😊

When I first saw this I was so disappointed and scared for Greg and watching Murray and Jeff calm down Anthony who cried the most for Greg patting him and putting their hands on his shoulders watching him get despaired that’s what true friends do and what true friendship is about 😭😭 I’m so glad Greg is in excellent health again and hopeful he stays healthy for the rest of his life 🙏🏼

When I first heard of the incident I was scared that we'd lost Greg but was so relieved to hear that he's okay. The Wiggles mean a lot to me and Greg is my favorite original Wiggle.
It wouldve crushed me if he passed.

Glad to hear he is doing great!!!! As a Heart patient myself they taught me how to use the AED machine! I never have had to use it. Personally I recommend as many people learn how to use this fantastic Machine!

26 minutes in out of hospital cardiac arrest and he's alive without obvious neuro impairment. That is absolutely amazing. Survival for out of hospital arrest is iffy. Longest I've worked an out of hospital arrest as a paramedic was just over an hour and, not shockingly, resulted in death. Longest Ive worked somebody and had them survive, walk out of the hospital, and continue living an unimpaired life was just under 15 minutes.
Omg this is so sad that our favorite person/childhood person sadly had a heart attack I’m so happy the nurse helped him I’m literally crying tears out so much I love the wiggles even tho I’m in middle school this was my favorite show when I was a little kid💓😢♥️literally you don’t understand how happy I am😢💓♥️🥳

I grew up with the original Wiggles (I'm a 2000s kid). Last week, I was in the car with my mom and siblings and me, my mom, and brother, after I just pulled up one if their songs on TH-cam, we got to talking. We talked about how Greg left because of health problems and how Anthony is the only original Wiggle left because of everything that's happened, especially after 2020, and how people just want more diversity. It's hard to think that a lot of things that I watched when I was little, most kids now, don't even know what they are. I mean, most things I watched when I was little, like Wonder Pets, Little Einsteins, Dora the explorer, the Wiggles, they're the reason I just love anything music related. I can't imagine how scary that must've been for all of them.
Actually, 2 years ago, I learned how to do CPR at a summer camp, I'm not certified anymore, but, I will try to get recertified in a year or two because I'm trying to get my mom to get let me take a babysitter course (currently 14 and can't legally babysit by myself). It makes me realize that how scary it is to know CPR and have to do CPR. I've never had to do CPR in a real situation, but, yeah, it would be scary to have to do CPR on someone, but people like Grace, are really rare to find, especially now, after everything 2020 has brought.

It just so happened that Greg wrote a song about CPR. In the months that passed he’s become a strong ambassador for heart health & has been (and still is) encouraging people to learn CPR and to learn to use a Defibrillator.

I really don’t wanna be rude but imagine comparing Sam to Greg. Greg is in a whole other Universe. A legend. A shame I had to grow up with Sam on the tv, but thankfully I had vhs’s and dvds of the original legends!

CPR seems to be a confusing thing based on replies to this comment. The important thing is that Greg is doing great. My son was worried when he heard the news, so we told him that Greg is feeling better. Good job Grace Jones.
Can you please give more information on the way the USA teaches CPR?
If you are talking about compression only cpr, that is taught here too as an option if you do not feel comfortable doing rescue breaths. There have been studies to show that it is about the same effectiveness as traditional cpr, however people are more likely to do it. The majority of people that need cpr are not wiggles or Victoria’s Secret models. They are generally old people and could have vomit or blood around their mouths. The idea if putting your mouth on a strangers is off putting for a lot of people, and when you only have never done cpr before it can be enough to stop many people doing it. If nothing is done that person is dead, doing something be it traditional or compression only cpr gives people a chance.
@@christinesmith3711 , Actually I agree with you. So stand corrected. It is better for someone to try. And it's true that so many people are hesitant. In America there was a divide, but statistically it was shown more lives are saved if people use compression--and it works well because the body is still well oxygenated.
I wanted to add that what concerned me was in incident near me. There was a lake and an autistic boy. There was no one who knew CPR, but had a basic idea of how it worked. Because the boy, in this situation, lost a lot of oxygen because downing, the chest compressions did not work and he died. It hit home because I have three autistic children, so I would hope that if they are a school pool and in the unlikely event of being drowning (as they all have special lifejackets) I would rather someone not worry and provide rescue breaths in that instance.
Kyberik agree rescue breaths are much more important for drowning. That is really sad.
I’m so glad Greg is okay and is doing good today. He was always my favorite and I even remember having a bit of a crush on him. I remember being like 5 and telling mom I wanted to kiss Greg Wiggle 😂
