If he didn’t have possession of the ball, then it’s not a loose ball foul if the player has possession of the ball it’s a loose ball foul now from what they’re showing I can’t see if it’s a loose ball file so I have to go look at the video

I don’t have the rule book in front of me but the “loose ball foul” has a stipulation or is partly based on one player not being allowed to impede another player from attempting to gain possession of the ball or securing it. It really depends on how the rule is interpreted but to me and how I’ve seen the referees typically call loose ball fouls over 30 years watching basketball…this was a clear foul on DiVincenzo as he essentially dove into Ausar lower body, stopping him from getting any opportunity to gain possession. If you want to argue that DiVincenzo was also going for the ball fine, but if you watch the video you can see he made little effort to control his body and just threw himself into Ausar as opposed to making a more clear effort to get the ball. In my mind it was actually a dangerous play, lucky neither got hurt. The NBA has a growing problem with consistency in regards to how the referees interpret the rules and call games from game to game and throughout the games themselves allowing much more physical play towards the end of close games
Losing sucks, but this is a blessing in disguise for the Pistons. They don’t need to be winning meaningless games. Keep tanking and give Cade some damn help!
