      Wow I didn't realize y'all upgraded to the FX-3! That is a sweet camera. Do y'all use ND filters at all? And do you follow the 180 rule or just run-and-gun mostly? I have always been told to do the 180 rule but I feel like it slows me down for vlog style videos.

    • @AdventuresofAplusK
      @AdventuresofAplusK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jamiebuckleyphotography We love the FX3! Was a scary purchase for the wallet haha, but we are super happy with it! We have been using ND filters, but not always a huge fan. Still trying to learn how to use it properly (we have variable ones). We are shooting at double our frame rate, but that’s a new thing since we got the camera. Before we just did auto settings, but then learned of the rule and thought we’d try it out for now! Still very much filming newbs 😂

    WOW! I've watched all 230 of your videos and this video was easily in the top 5! Fantastic sound blended with all the beautifully captured natural surroundings; really makes me want to get right out there and hike all of it. There are a lot of videos that will say, "Here are the top 10 things you need to see in such and such national park...," but you essentially did that while telling a story, which is much better. Even before I watched the video, I was at work, briefly saw that the video had dropped, and recommended it to a colleague who has been saying she wants to go to Death Valley. Y'all make me proud that I did!

    Didn’t have to wait long to see this! I actually just fully recovered from an injury sustained going down Ubehebe three or so months ago. Long story. Dante’s View looks amazing. We were there 4-5 days and road access was closed due to flooding. This became one of our more favorite parks after visiting.

    I felt like I was in a beautiful postcard while watching this vlog! Such jaw dropping beauty! You did such a great job! I LOVED seeing Konie rolling around on your cushions, Adam going out to “play” golf ⛳️ 🤣, Kathryn climbing up the one rock and straddling it🤣, “Death Valley, I hope you find your dad!!!”🤣🤣🤣, both of your dance moves…such a fun, informative and beautifully done video!!! With only 2 days, I missed out on the crater so enjoyed your footage. And I must say, you both motivated me to get my behind out of bed and make sunrise for travel. I got to enjoy my vacation all over again watching your video! We returned a week ago from spending 5 days at DVNP. We saw everything you saw except the crater. We also enjoyed hikes south of Badwater Basin. There were less people down that way and we felt like we had the park to ourselves. These hikes were Willow Creek (with a very nice water fall at the end); Sidewinder Canyon (with 6 slot canyons to explore); and Room Canyon. All can be found on AllTrails. Also, the mountains were very colorful down that way, too. We also enjoyed spending a day exploring Emigrant Canyon Rd and the old mines and charcoal kilns located off that road. I also felt like a kid on the Mesquite Sand Dunes! Oh, and we were pleasantly surprised by how unique and cool the Twenty Mule Team Canyon Scenic Drive was; would highly recommend. Artists Palette reminded me of an ice cream sundae! :).

    Wonderful Park. We visited in October. Late fall through February is the best time to visit to avoid the heat. We enjoyed Mosaic Canyon, Darwin Falls, Mesquite Dunes, but there is a lot to see and do there.

      Thank you for watching! There is so much to see at DV…it definitely requires multiple trips. Beatty was such a neat town and we especially loved the burros. It was nice to pop into Nevada to instantly get a dollar off diesel! We checked out Rhyolite in the video we posted before this one and we loved learning about its history. We’d love to go back in time and see it in its heyday. Scotty’s Castle was closed on our visit unfortunately, so we’ll see it next time. Thanks for the tip!

    Hello Adam & Katherine! I’ve never thought of going to Death Valley, but after watching this video, I would love to go. Those mountains did look like sherbet ice cream! Such vibrant colors. I know ice cream is yours and Katherine’s favorite. Mosaic Canyon Trail was so amazing! The waterfall was so beautiful, I never thought of a waterfall at Death Valley. 😲 Adam you made laugh when you came out of the van with your gulf clubs and said “what?” So funny!😂

    Great pro tip on cell service. Was just wondering that before we head out tomorrow to follow in your footsteps.
    My wife wants to know how your lipstick always looks so good (that's for Katherine)?
    I'm digging the stylish sock fashion you're rocking.
    Adam, are you wearing Sportiva shoes? They look like mine... If so, sorry to say, you're wearing old man shoes... Cause I'm an old man. 😆😆
    Hope us old folks have as much fun as you kids! Thanks for all the tips.

      Yes definitely don’t bank on much cell service. The one spot we had good service was Dante’s View. But definitely download offline Google Maps and AllTrails maps!
      She said it’s Revlon Color Stay and it apparently makes good on its claim!
      My shoes are Altra, but I can see the resemblance! Hopefully they keep my feet young!

    The Ubehebe crater? Such an awesome name! Very much appreciated the joke of the lake name, plus the sun light when you were down there was all kinds of pretty! 😍 The Golden Canyon hike was beautiful, and a pretty cool and unexpected view where it pushed you out, but the Mosaic Canyon was my favourite thing from this video. First there was the epic scrambling you guys had to do... love a bit of scrambling, but I also I had no idea that rocks like the mosaic ones naturally existed. When we were choosing tiles for our bathroom, I really wanted terrazzo tiles which look a bit like what were in the canyon... but they were so expensive we decided against it. Love that you guys have a little vacation gifted to you by subscribers 🙌

    Would love to see you guys do a "Day in the Life of Kona" episode. Especially since you make the national/state park scene with a dog work. A lot of people w/ dogs avoid parks all together, which is a shame. Would be nice to see how you address the nitty gritty details of keeping Kona in the van during hikes he can't go on; the dog products you use to make him comfortable during life on the road (ie. outdoor trampoline bed - how you store it in the van, etc.); how you address keeping his dog food consistent from various locations; does he have a routine, etc.?

      @AdventuresofAplusK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These are great questions! We do have a blog post about what we do with Kona when she cannot join us, including how we keep the van safe for her. We will try to add more insight into the others!
