If you have a Dell PE with a Perc H740p controller with an existing RAID 10 array with two parititions, one being a boot/os partition and the other being a data partition can you do this procedure and if so how does it expand the size of the partitions. Would it only be able to grow the size the data partition while leaving the size of the OS partition the same? We want to be able to add capacity to the data partition in future without having to go through the hassle of wiping the array, rebuilding it with the added drives and having to reinstall the OS or restore from a backup as we want to avoid any real downtime of the server.

I have a R720xd with H710P Mini controller. I do not have the Reconfigure in my drop down menu. I am running OMSA v8.5.0. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the video very interesting !!
I have a question; I have a DELL PowerEdge 2950 and i will add 1 new hard disk RAID 5 with OpenManage using "Reconfigure Task" on controller virtual disks,
will this require any restart/reboot or will it cause any risk regarding stored data on already mounted other disks ?

good video, I have a question if you added two 1TB physical disks into existing Raid10 (6*15GB). Does that mean all 950GB space on these two 1TB drives can not be used anymore. Thanks.

You can still access your existing Virtual Disk while you are reconstructing additional drives in your existing RAID. This is a beauty of OpenManage Server Administrator. But it takes really long time to finish the process if something is running on your existing RAID, such as, virtual machine. If you are running ESXi, you might have to reboot the host otherwise, its not gonna show you the unallocated space when you try to extend the datastore to adjacent space.
