    I miss ttt2 so much, broken as it is. It's the most fun and still is my favorite Tekken game. I wish they'd make a Steam port of it.

      Mine too. It was so hard and over-the-top on everything. Too many characters and too many strings and moves. It was a true clusterfuck but I really loved it. Miss Roger. I want Roger back in Tekken 8.

    Tag 2 was by far the most fun tekken game and its not even a question. I loved the character interactions when they hated each other, and the customization was insanely fun.

    I still put Eddy slightly better than Christie there were a lot of characters where Christie struggled to get a solid punish on and certain matchups where that range on Eddy helped a lot where it was already a terrible matchup especially against Bears Ogre and Jinpachi

    To add to the comical list of good Nina traits, she could tag off most of her launchers and CH Launchers with a QCF1 if her partner could pick up after it, and her tag assaults played exceptionally well with air grab enders, which were phenomenal combo enders in Tag2. And since she could use her SS1 cancels to extend her TA's she could add a lot of damage even on early bound TA's.
    I think the only thing she wasn't great at was ending a TA. Normally you'd just see a blonde bomb or something like that. Otherwise for a character that famously doesn't like anyone, she plays with others EXCEPTIONALLY well in tag2.

      Nina's job was to tag her in with a tagable launcher and have her destroy the opponent's red health. LarsxNina team was messed up!

    They had to manage and balance all of these ridiculous amount of characters and theyre struggling with Tekken 8 ? i get that there is no T8 arcade release but still, there should be a way to manage balance at the development stage of the game.

    Devil Jin = Angel ? What makes Devil Jin as top5 member and Angel as bottom5 member?

    • @mistahkalean6777
      @mistahkalean6777 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Angel was definitely bottom teir lol I mained her with Yoshi and did pretty well. All my tag combos did 70 and I think they heath bar was 140, so all I needed was 2 combos and my opponent was dead. 2 mistakes and I win lol
      I would start with Angel and do iws2's. My timing was god and reaction to ducking highs and punishing was good and ws2 was 15 frames and only -12. That with hellsweep mix got me to dark purple ran. Cant remember the name.
      But Angel was weak in neutral, she only had good block and whiff punishment.

    • @nebby9751
      @nebby9751 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      As someone who played Angel through Tag 2,she was a severely gimped Devil Jin with one or two Kazuya traits sprinkled in.
      Bad movement. Particularly her backdash.
      No i13 or i14 mids really hindered her ability to counter pressure. It gave her a bad matchup against bears of all characters. The only way she had a fast, non special, mid was a perfect iws4. Which is an insane execution demand for a basic i13 mid poke.
      Her combos were terrible. Her lack of fillers meant she was genuinely reduced to using 1 jabs as wall carry and doing 3 hit bounds into TA if she wanted any meaningful damage.
      Her homing moves were slow and weak. Her B2 in Particularly was like a miserably bad version of Anna's F,f+2. Stance homing move was hella slow.
      She had a Hellsweep. And it was her only good low. And even then it was the worst hellsweep in the game since it gave no okizeme and had an awkward knockdown that made it poorly suited for wallsplats. Her other lows were either horrendous framewise, were d/b+4 and had zero range, or were locked behind her stance and thus too slow. She did actually have above average generics though, since her legs were so long, iirc.
      Her F+3 stance was so slow that it was essentially useless outside of Tag Assaults.
      To compliment her bad lows, she didn't have great mids either. Or rather, all her strong mids were unsafe. Heavily so in some cases. F,f+3,4 being a launch punishable whiff punish (it wasn't even a launcher itself...) felt like a cruel joke.
      She had an electric, but it had a weaker hitbox that the others.
      Her WS1 punish, while good, was a frame too slow to be useful. Same with her WS2.
      Generally Angels good traits were too small of a list to be taken seriously. Mishima 1,1,2 and b+1,2 were good standing punishment. Her WS punishment was good but mostly a frame too slow for Tag2 (i14 ws1 and i16 ws2). She had good TA fillers, and a great TA Ender in CD1~u/f. She had a good i15 launcher in classic twin pistons. Her f+2,1,4 was a fun, cheap mid string. CD3 was fun. And she had a Hellsweep and an Electric.
      That may genuinely be it as far as her good traits go.
      Nearly all of her good traits overlap with Devil form Kaz and/or Devil Jin. With the caveat that they don't come with her severe design weaknesses, and thier own good tools over her (Devil Jins Throw game or Kaz's Tag 2 oki, for example)
      Choosing Angel over Kaz or Devil Jin was a decision entirely about the visuals. And you were severely weakening yourself for it. But her design was amazing enough that I could always understand the choice to.
      She was at one point a little better though. In earlier versions I remember people saying she had classic Twin pistons. i13 mid mid, safe CH launcher. Though I never played that version myself, it was always just something I saw reported online Would have been cheap as hell if she kept it, but it might have actually been enough to help her escape being bottom 1.

    A little bit late to be dropping a TTT2 tier list now that Tekken 8 has recently just released.
    Can anyone give a detailed breakdown on why Nina is the best in his opinion. He didn't really go into depth.
    Also what makes Lars that good in Tag 2?
    His df2 wasn't homing lol. You could SSR, SWR or even SWL at times. But it was generally weak to SWR.
    Also he had even worse lows in that game with db4 only being +2 on hit and launching them backwards on CH.
    Then every thing else was kinda the same or worse than Tekken 7 and 8.
    No instant FC d1+2, no 111, no DEN 3+4, no DEN 3, no Limited Entry moves, SEN 1 -10, SEN 2 -15 or something, b3 i20 not i17 etc.

      Some of us are still interested in the older games, whether as a subject of study, playing them, or, as in my case, both. Indeed, I'd far rather play TTT2 (or, for that matter, any of the games from T5 to TTT2) than T8 anyday.

      You have to remember everyone was a weaker version of themselves
      Lars had an amazing poke game, great tag assault fillers, combos, rage game, pickups for oki, df2 homing i meant it tracked extremely well at + frames as well as high crushing jabs

      @@CKTFergus When you say poke game what moves are you referring to?
      The moves which come to mind are 1 12 df1 df2 b1 db21 d2 and d4 db1 FC df1+2 for low pokes.
      Also why was Nina the best?

    • @genokaihl008
      @genokaihl008 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CosmicVoid420 Nina pretty much had everything on this game. High damage, Safe counter hit launchers, Pokes, 50/50 mid low mixups on her strings with good tracking. Hayashida step was very strong on this game due to good movement where you could easily avoid taking damage and easily make space. Backdash and Backdash cancel did not have auto block properties on this game so if you get locked on point blank range it was pretty almost hard to escape wherein Hayashida step was superior. And most of all she had the best wall carry on the game with her multiple WS+1 although it requires execution. You could also add up her throw mixup since throwbreak window in this game was harder.

    I might disagree on Angel being the worst character in modern Tekken history, just because I think Tekken 6 had worse low tiers like Zafina.
    Not that I think Angel is good; far from it, but I'll give her a tiny bit of credit in that she has the Tekken Tag 2 EWGF.

    As an Anna main. I hated playing her in this game. She felt rushed and incomplete. Even her model looked rushed (just look at her bangs) 😂. I went back to T6 where she was better.
    Tag 2 is the worst version of Anna in tekken imo.
