    Normally the BCS (Bearing Capacity of Soil) is determined by soil investigation on site through boreholes. This value has to be divide FOS = 2 or 2.5 ! Thank You!

    Why are you adding gamma x Df and calculating qsafe? Why can’t you just use qns? Thanks

      Because in the numerical it was asked to determine q safe not the net safe bearing capacity.

    Phi < 26 ° so we have to assume it local shear failure
    For that
    Cm = 2/3 × C is to be considered but u have taken here directly C how can it be possible ??

      Factors are available along with code. If codes are not allowed in the exam then you will need to remember them.

      For calculating bearing capacity, length of the footing is assumed as 1 meters. It is not calculated. If you're asking about design of the footing, the length comes from loading and flexural requirements.
