    Hmm... I just ordered this tank last week and was searching TH-cam for a review on the kit... Then you do one. If I catch you reading my mind again, don't expect to live much longer.I live outside your house...bye for now Herbert! You have not seen the last of me!

      I know your exact thoughts! You might live outside my house, but I know what you're thinking... I'm 1.4 steps ahead!

    The funny thing is that marking “Revenge for hero Brother” is one of the premium is-2s in warthunder and has a cool story behind it

    The funny part is...Russian tanks WERE half assed and rushed into production. any imperfections are probably historically accurate...

      True enough to a degree. They'd have big gaps in their armour, but I would imagine the important things would have slightly more attention and effort put into them.

      Which is probably why the Finnish just threw Molotov cocktails at them cause it seeped through the gaps

      @@jontheno3213 no that is false they threw them to burn the tanj and make it too hot for the crew

    It's a pretty good kit - I echo many of your noted frustrations and issues. I got three of these in the Soviet Tank War starter. Will do each a little bit different. I have a Rubicon 1/56 Soviet stowage/accessories box coming to individualize them a bit more. A bit of putty and sprue goo here and there covered up the gaps. After these three plastic kits I have some STLs I'm going to print out - IS-1, IS-2, & IS-3. --- again, I really was frustrated at points with this build... agree that the designers could have done better.

    Hi Herbert, my son recently bought a kit on holiday, its a beast! Its the Zvezda 1/35 T35. He has made a great job of it and thought it was a great kit to build. It looks derptastic and we plan to do some gaming with 28mm figures for the lols. When the wargaming pedants aren't watching. Please check the kit out if you haven't already.
    Oh and the box on the side of your IS2 is for the storage of lost souls of Badgers.

    The story for the gaps between tracks and wheels is: These gaps are there because it is such a speedy tank... yes, speedy...

    nice IS-2!! apart from some minor issues its quite a good model.
    Next week, i'll be face to face with a real IS-2, (and a Hetzer.. and a Panther.. and many more ww2 tanks) I am going to take my camera to get plenty of pictures and maybe some video. You'll probably see the pictures in the Discord server, and if i get some video, ill put that on my channel. Anyway im quite exited to see all those vehicles in real life..

    I brought a pack of 3, the first one I built had a gap at the back of t tank. The 2nd I've just built has gap in the turret.. wondering what the 3rd has in store! Strangely I didn't have n issue with the shootie you downy thing. The little clip things on the turret were a pain n I gave up doing them all!

    Gaps? Soviet tenk doesnt need the time to complain of all those gaps. Tenk is always strong 👌

    Fun fact. Eagle on the right shuld be for "Polish" Army, but someone in Warlord seriously fucked up, and left crown on the eagle, that was removed by the russians.

    I'm a bit late finding this video, but here's a link to the REAL 'Fighting Girlfriend' - although that was a T-34.

    Russian tanks had gaps and funky welds; they saw them as weapons, to be built and fielded fast, being asthetically pleasing was not a factor at all. The Russian tanks at Bovington are examples of this.

    What glue does he use? The glue I use spreads too much.

      Revell

      As James Keogan said: Revell. Specifically Revell Contacta Professional

    • @mitchellhogg4627

      Li Ward all glue spreads. All you can do is practice...

    • @HerbertErpaderp
      @HerbertErpaderp  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some are definitely more viscous than others though.
      Revell isn't especially viscous. It does, however, have a nice metal tip that I find really helps with more precise application.
      Still, I apply it too heavily myself and have it go places I don't want it sometimes.
      I think the trick is to be careful and don't rush.

    • @mitchellhogg4627
      @mitchellhogg4627 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Herbert Erpaderp the trick is to squeeze some onto a pallet (cardboard, plastic...whatevs) and use the pin as an applicator instead of an actual nozzle...that way you have complete control of how much cement leaves the tip and makes contact with the model ;)
