A texture pack for Mario Kart 64 using Project64, a Nintendo 64 emulator.

Current repo changes:
+ Replaced all textures in Toad’s Turnpike, Sherbet Land, Wario Stadium, Banshee Boardwalk, Yoshi Valley, and DK Jungle Parkway.*
(Note: this does not include clouds or track objects.)
+ Added all HD enemies
+Added portraits for all characters except Luigi and DK
+Added HD menu backgrounds, credit to GhostlyDark
+Added HD mini maps, credit to GhostlyDark
+Fixed bugs with cup results textures
+Replaced all item textures. (Note: There seems to be a bug where shells will continuously duplicate their texture, making it harder to 100% retexture them. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.)

As soon as Mario Kart 64 gets decompiled fully and is able to run natively on PC. That won't be for a while though, if at all. Ocarina of Time might get there soon though.
Edit: There's a MK64 decomp repo on Github that's at 55%. I'm also realizing that MK64 uses a lot less code than OoT, so it might get ported first. Maybe we'll get a Render96 Kart after all.

The characters have lines splitting them in half
Some are very visible, some are barely visible.
0:12 Line splitting Luigi and DK in half
0:22 Line in the middle of Bowser

N64 version is a game on its own. They have this distinct flavor to it. It’s exceptionally realistic while also gritty yet colorful but also some strange details like the shells having flames and also seeing the red shell just circle the track on its own hitting whoever it’s on its way
