Chef Hector "Boyardee" Boiardi was a real Italian chef before he came up with the idea of manufacturing his Italian-style pasta in cans for people to purchase at their local supermarkets to serve at home...
Before I encountered this, I was a loser. I had no friends, horrible grades, my parents hated me, and I was considering dropping out of high school. Then, god told me to try Chef Boyardee's Beef Ravioli Microwavable Cup. It was magnificent. Every ounce of it was like a thousand pounds of serotonin being pumped into your brain. It was indescribable. In the moment of finishing it, I immediately ascended to heaven, and, with god, destroyed hell and earth. It truly is the one true food, only fit for a god.
One of the Chef Boyardee canned pastas I miss the most from my childhood, is that of the cheese tortellini variety...I used to eat that stuff up for lunch back in the 1990s!
I love it right now, but it was my favorite food when I was a child. One of my childhood memories is playing star fall on the computer, while eating beefaroni right out of the can.
Honestly, mini ravioli, put it in the microwave for 1 minute, take it out add garlic salt and pepper then seasoning salt if you want, after add a bunch or cheese with powdered parmesan. That’s my childhood recipe.
Too right. How hard is it to buy a package of pasta & a jar of good sauce. Boil the pasta, microwave the sauce. Even add some butter oe olive oil as a finishing touch.
Actually, it's an interesting fact that the chef boyradee was a real person and really Italian. He started out with a little place of his own and he'd sell his home made sauce in jars. This was the very start of canned sauce!
True, and they're not exactly GOOD ... but taken for the convenience items they are, and judged strictly on their own merits, I find them tastier than should ever be expected, and surprisingly hearty. I'm especially fond of ravioli, but the chicken Alfredo is an interesting change of pace, and the cheeseburger Mac/chili Mac are quite different than the more 'Italian' ones. I don't eat these often, but my pantry has plenty of 'em. Of course, they're also pretty cheap, so there's that.
I dont know why most of these are IMPOSSIBLE to find in stores. Even walmart super centers and neighborhood markets. Sucks. So I guess gotta buy em online by the case.
Did they change the recipe recently? I'm eating beef raviolis and even soaked in the sauce thee raviolis look white because the sauce is literally as runny as water and doesn't stick to the noodles at all. What the hell? I swear they changed the ingredients. I bet they're trying to be cheap. This doesn't make anyone happy.
They definitely did change their recipe, im eating their ravioli one right now and it just doesnt taste like it use to. I hear they have the throwback chef boyardee and theyre better 🤷♀️

I don't know why people would ever pick these cans over even the lowest of the low as far as easy pasta dishes go. Generic spaghetti, canned sauce, & frozen meatballs would still taste 10x better! I personally can't even go that low with pasta. However, I get it... Kinda.
