This was awesome! This is my jam, have always been into hard surface modeling with flying bots since Fallout then Oblivion gave me a modern take on them. Can't wait to see more of your creations.

@@pixlwaysYou are spot on, they do offer a lot of inspiration, there are a lot of really fantastic hard surface modelers working in the game industries. It does drive me to become better.
@@Revenant483 Absolutely, your observation is right on point. The talent and creativity displayed by hard surface modelers in the gaming industry are truly inspiring.

Respect that you keep it all default blender and no Booleans! Have you ever modeled an historical helmet with some cheek guards? I found it very tricky to achieve their shape and curvature, for the cheek guards that is. I'll provide a model from sketchfab as reference if you are interested in doing a video. It's a very beautiful helmet as well
Thanks for your kind words! As for modeling a historical helmet with cheek guards, that sounds like an interesting challenge! I would be happy to take a look at the reference model you have in mind and see if I can create a tutorial around it. Thank you for the suggestion!
7:57 I press shift B but it doesnt change anything is something wrong with the configuration? sorry now I see I need to do a little twister and press I and Shift B at the "same" time. And thanks for the video, I want to learn Blender because 3Ds Max is a little pain in the ass and I always want to learn Blender.
Great video - thank you! I really appreciate the uninterrupted workflow in real time, without lengthy explanations. You expose a lot of modeling techniques without taking us out of the zone.
at 22:08, for me the circulize tool doesn't fully work and my circles look very "squary" wich is really weird. I tried to fix it, touched all of the options of the looptool circulize but it just doesn't want to work. If you have any idea what could be the problem I would be glad to know, I checked and I did everything just as shown in the tutorial
Just finished part one, a very good tutorial! I always fear when it comes to hard surface modeling but with this video. you doing a very good job, Thank you so much for making this video, am a big fan of your work now ❤

Subscribed. Very good explanation. I'll try make the robot similar to yours, but, I can't guarantee it 😅 PS: I'm using Blender 2.78c and I don't see how you can replicate the step you made at 8:00 - = shift + b while inset does not make any change in my case. I had to dissolve edges, but, I'm wondering if this is correct. Thank you.
Thanks for subscribing! 😊 I appreciate your feedback. Regarding the step at 8:00, my apologies for the confusion in the video. You're correct; it's the B key, not Shift+B, to achieve the desired effect. Dissolving edges can work as an alternative. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions. Happy modeling! 👍

hello bro, why i press Shift B, the bottom of inset edge not oveylap like you at 8:13 operation?🙉
Hey there! That was my mistake and I said it wrong. Sorry for that. Only press B for Boundary.
how do i extrude when i have the subdivizion on???
I recommend to turn the subdivision off while you're in edit mode. I usually keep it on only when I'm in Object Mode.
Wheatley has had enough of your shit and is ready for business
