    For a USA made guitar I think it should have the superior German made Schaller Floyd, a Special will wear much quicker on the knife edges so it's a bit cheeky to charge what they do. Still a lovely guitar though. One odd thing is that only the neck pickup has gold height adjustment screws, the Bill Lawrence has black.

      @Century_Road_Official  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This guitar was a one off made by Larivee Guitars but yeah even the regular Washburn made versions have the Special. It works fine but I will say the FR Original I have on my vintage N4 and custom made N4 are much much smoother, and the fine tuners are really great. Good eye on the pick up screws too. I noticed the same and wondered why. Not a big deal but if they were gold it would be #ChefsKiss

    I don't mind the Floyd Rose Special, but yeah at that price point it should be at least a 1000. Awesome video!

      @Century_Road_Official  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @andthatsalliknow5280 Same. I’ve used original Floyd’s, 1000’s, and Specials. They all felt and operated the same, to me. That being said I don’t give my trems the Steve Vai treatment so that might contribute. But all other N4’s plus the limited walnut body run that was made around the same time all have 1000’s.

    • @JunkRemovalPro
      @JunkRemovalPro ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That trem is JUNK.... The Schaller is the one to have from the actual originals.

    At that price point it should be an original floyd. I'm shocked there's a special on that.

    Larrivee guitars is a long standing high-end guitar company started by Jean Larrivee - who learned his craft amongst the most prestigious luthiers in North America (Sergei de Jonge, Linda Manzer and Grit Laskin started their craft in Toronto in the 70s). If it was made by Larrivee, which I am pretty doubtful, then it would likely be extremely high quality. I'd be very curious to hear if it is in fact true. As I own multiple Larrivees (acoustic and electric), I've been wanting a N4/4N for a really long time and be almost fanatical to grab one of these if it is true.

    • @Century_Road_Official
      @Century_Road_Official  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is 100% true. I reached out to Larrivee support shortly after I recorded this video to inquire. JR from customer service with a YES. This was one of 2 prototypes they made for Washburn. They always do things like this in 2’s just in case something happens to one. That being said I’m pretty sure the small builder who is currently making all N4’s is still doing it. Not sure why Larrivee was commissioning to do this.

      I certainly agree with you. If it is a prototype then, great! I am pretty sure Larrivee isn't building these in production.

    Great video and playing..Its a beautiful guitar and it sounds awesome through that lbxs "my favorite amp" but I can't believe they put a FR special!? At that price point and Not a 1000 FR.. but if you upgrade saddles to stainless steel it's all good..GREAT DEMO BRO, 🤘🤘🤘

      Thank you my man! Yeah the FR Special on some of the N4’s over the years has been mentioned. No idea why, is it a parts supply issue? Who knows. What I can say is I have Specials, 1000’s, and Originals on my current guitars…they all set up easily and feel the same. Now…5-6 years down the road after recording and using them live will they all hold up the same? Who’s to say? But then again that’s what FU-Tone is for! Thanks for watching broski.

    In reverb there are several sellers with pre-orders but I don't trust them. here in Spain since there is no Washburn distributor.

      How do you feel about buying from Japan? I think the dealer is Ishibashi Music in Tokyo. They have a few N4’s listed. There’s also a Koa N4 listed in Asia as well. Not sure what shipping is like.
      The mahogany in this video has no serial number, but was purchased through a US Washburn dealer and its prototype nature was confirmed from the builder.

    ;) Thnx for the shout-out. I got mine from the first batch and it actually said Made in USA. If yours doesn't say that MAKE SURE you check with Joe that it's built in the USA cause it appears they make them overseas now as they would otherwise definitely mark it "Made in USA". If in fact it's not made in USA maybe send it back - for that price point it's insulting if it's made overseas. I don't put anything past them. Keep me posted what Joe says. Joe is super cool dude but todays' "Washburn" is a customer insult. 👊👊👊

      This is a USA made N4. Retail is $2,499 but I didn’t pay full retail. The board is definitely ebony. It stacks up against my other N4 from the old Chicago shop and other ebony guitars. As you know not all ebony, especially on newer run guitars, isn’t super dark. It can be more difficult to source for a smaller company like Washburn.

      Can’t tell if being serious or sarcastic, so I’ll will reply very matter of factly. Your comment is making one giant assumption (priorities). But if you did watch the whole video, you would notice I have a cat. She likes to play with strings and sometimes will chase flies, etc. So, the busted blinds are due to cat being a cat. When I filmed this, it was probably a few days prior she decided to be a rockstar. Otherwise, appreciate the view. 👍🏻
