"I need blueberries in December." I love Andrew's humor, because that would be something I would say. Growing up as a farm girl, the "penthouse life" would never be for me. I'm glad people are opting for villas and landscapes to high rise and big cities.

Agree. Having all the staff inevitably creates its own problems. Like conflict amongst the staffs and end up with different factions within the household. Another issue is that some staffs eventually will want to borrow money from their employers due to their own financial mismanagement and can’t afford to pay for their own emergencies.
It’s better to just hire a cleaning service to clean the house on a scheduled basis instead of having a live-in maid. Just use Uber or hire a limo service to get around town instead of having a live-in/full time driver if you don’t want to drive yourself. Just order UberEats or dine at your favorite restaurant if you don’t feel like cooking instead of having a chef. And, order your groceries online and have them delivered instead of having a staff going to the supermarket to buy your groceries.

I'm all for making life easier by throwing cash at problems the average person has to contend with, but the easiest way is to not create bigger problems by matching your lifestyle to your income. No boats, fancy cars or planes. No trophy, high maintenance wife. No homes with 10 bedrooms that never get used. More and bigger 'stuff' creates more problems. Focus on solving other peoples problems.

Aaaand ain't that the truth - everyone I know that lives this lifestyle, contrary to what Andrew is saying in this video, does absolutely none of that.
They own ultra-luxury condos that have their own private resident-only cleaning teams, caretakers, drivers, assistants, etc, or stay at hotels that include it ($700+/night generally) and have not a care in the world. They have no team to manage or any complications - they can get whatever they want delivered from food delivery apps or have the building assistant(s) figure it out within a couple hours of arriving, or even before - and it gets done right.
Stayed at them before, a few nights, and it was better than I expected - had some ridiculously specific questions I couldn't find the answer to after hours of research and the assistant team kept me updated and figured it out on extremely short notice and arranged everything I needed.
I don't need that life, and would rather invest that cash for the time being, but that's how they do it - not all these private villas around the world. Only the top 0.0001% do that (bezos types), if even, and they have full staffs on every property all the time constantly living there upkeeping it.

Andrew - Enjoyed the video. As a nomad currently residing in Budva, Montenegro and who has also spent time in Serbia I would add that these countries do have a mail service. So if you are in desperate need of a particular item of clothing, toiletry, etc. you can order from online retailers. It will take a few days to a week longer to arrive than in the west but you can still have them delivered. As for fresh blueberries in December you will have to settle for the frozen ones.

Dealing with people is a challenge, most of the times, simply because they are people (they will never be as predictable as my german shepherds). I have had to deal with people under my coordination for a good part of my adult life such as maids, cooks, cleaning personnel, farm peasants / cowboys, civil construction workers, chauffeurs, copilots, skippers, office people and so on. It can be good or it can be bad. The idea of a personal assistant is fine, provided such person does not become a filter between me and the "outer world". I like to have regular direct contact with common people (caretakers, taxi drivers, policemen, beach life guards, bartenders / waiters etc) and hear what they think, what their concerns and necessities are etc. Many bad decisions have been made by executives (especially in the woke sense) mainly because they accepted to be put inside these so called HNWI bubbles. In my particular view, it might be a big mistake, if not properly managed...

As highly skilled corporate worker with comfortable financial background, but very low risk taking abilities, is there a way to invest five figures to create an income stream? Say invest $50,000 to bring in 10% return , but create an opportunity for a part-tiime job for the investor? If your company can be the facilitator or administrator of such business combining 10 50K investors who can work together and start a 500K business? Anyone else in this section who wants to explore this?

Just save up and invest passively in funds and managers you support and trust until you have enough to do something on your own - or get into real estate. Working with others in business, unless you're all super close and on the same page is a disaster - especially with more than one or two partners.
Right now I'd say if you're risk adverse likely tossing into short-term bonds, gold, international real estate, or international reits/farming-companies is probably the best bet, until you have a stack of 6-figures to do something more with, like buy and renovate a second home in Brazil and rent it out via a property manager when you're not there.
