    *Update* The SC Live 4 price is $1,299!!!
    Question of the day:
    Should DJ Gear have SPEAKERS!?

    • @northmanmartin5186

      I think the speakers are wasted room and money. They won't be loud enough to use as monitors in the club and they wont be high enough quality to use for the party. Its just a waste. To me- speakers included screams "hobby build." There is nothing wrong with that , as I think hobbiest are the target market for this product.

    • @Numb_Lock
      @Numb_Lock ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In general, NO. It just seems tacky to include little speakers. Space that could've been used to include proper DJing tools. If you can afford decks like these, I'm pretty sure you can afford a decent set of portable speakers, if you really need to "DJ on the go"...

    Great video as always. At first, I was really disappointed to see the speakers but they truly do have their place. It opens the door for a little more versatility, to so many other people. Everything else is on point. As I have always wanted a Stand-alone, this just might be my next controller.

    The speakers man, they are way better than expected, on par with the speaker that I'm using and.... I haven't yet utilised the volume knob at it's fullest, for the sake of the neighbours. So, yeah - anyone thinking of upgrading their systems, do not think of the speakers ill-like, you can take your device, plug it anywhere and just play without having to worry about connecting anything else.

      @@djcarlo interestingly enough, I didn't actually originally plan on getting the SC Live 4, it was the Prime Go I was considering, but having seen the latter in real life and confirming that the jog wheels - the size of them - do not work for me, it was no brainer deciding between this (once I learned about it's existence) and the Prime Go, especially considering that the price is basically the same for both units here in the UK =O

    @djcarolos I'm a HUGE fan! I appreciate the solid review, but most of all I appreciate you taking the time to answer your THOUSANDS of fans. Your comments are gold! Most content creators do not take the time to answer or respond. Even your quick responses are great and give incredible insight. I have the Prime 2 and was thinking about the SC 4 for cost. After your responses to the comments below, it's a no-brainer, as a mobile DJ, I'm just going to save up for the Prime 4 or ( fingers crossed ) come out with a Prime 4 +!! @djcarlo I am even contemplating getting a xlr to 3.5mm output to loop my Harden Kardon Go Play as an extra output (just using what I have already). From what I can read, it can work. And also a 6.5mm from usb-c from my phone. I can make something on the fly using a range of apps (remixlive, g-stomper rhythm for example, before I save up for an MPC), pity the mic input can't be assigned to only one channel though.

    I have the Live 2 because I just started. Unfortunately I didn't decide for the Live 4 from the beginning even though it was way more expensive when I bought the Live 2, 800 to 1200€ iirc. Especially the missing channels and performance pads are a big disadvantage but in general I love the Live 2. The speakers are really, really good. I went relatively fast from streaming to MP3s because you cannot record easily while streaming and also you cannot sort for BPM, key etc. while streaming. And of course you cannot prepare tracks on a computer, which might be the biggest disadvantage of streaming.

    A lot of people complain about it, especially the professionals, but remember, this is geared to another group or niche of DJs such as myself who doesn't have a home studio, I think the built in speakers are good but not good enough for an average party, more like for a small get together with friends, it has all the bells and whistles from that prime 4 except for the vinyl modes, but I don't mind

      @@djcarlothe question above , made me think, would you say the sc live 4 is good enough and worth buying, purely for home mixing and primarily using the built in speakers? I know they won’t sound incredible, but can I get a decent sound and have enough fun mixing this way, in my bedroom and living room?
      Also, I don’t have amazon music yet, for few reasons,
      I plan to mainly use the sc live 4 using a usb loaded with my mp3 collection, for now.
      Will sc live 4 read 128gb usb stick with mp3?
      And read all songs?
      I was thinking about buying prime 4 plus but as that costs twice the sc live 4, part of me thinks it’s possible, I’d still have just as much fun on sc live 4 and save £1000 and maybe in future, I could upgrade, if sc live 4 isn’t fulfilling my needs.
      Plus, the reason for buying a controller of some sort, was simply because I’ve mixed purely on vinyl for 10 plus years and while I love it and always will,
      I love the idea of mixing with digital for convenience of not only not having to dig through thousands of records, you can find any song within seconds, using any digital way of dj’ing.

      @@franciscobrady77 It is good enough. It's just that the prime 4 is more features, like, dedicated 2 microphone channels. It has a zone out which means you can hook up a speaker and play music in another room, while playing music in the main room. So that is the difference. But you can use any controller you want, it's just a matter of the different options each controller has.

    So basically a Prime 4 with speakers. I find these new speaker additions could only be advantagious to certain scenarios or a smaller drows but like you explained but I'm sure it will appeal to some but not all. I've had a Prime 4 for over 3 years and not too long ago was looking to change up. Then Denon came out with this and honestly its not for me as I already have speakers in my setup. So as for an upgrade, well it was rude no to go for the SC6000/X1850 setup. Which I am currently waiting on, and yes the UK has plenty in stock it's just the couriers are getting slower. Don't get me wrong it's an incredibly amazing system but I do think it's a little bit over priced

    • @djcarlo

      They actually dropped the price almost immediately after release. It's now retailing at $1,299. Apparently, a lot of people had the same sentiments as you did

    Can you change the format of the bars to go horizontal

    • @djcarlo
      @djcarlo  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When it's all 4 decks active, I don't think so. When it's only 2 decks, it's horizontal by default
