That is one awesome bike!! I too agree the FMF Apex exhaust fit the modern lines of the KTM's very very well. Thanks for the tips regarding the carbon fiber vs. the aluminum, I have a 690SMC and am planning on running Apex and have been debating between both different styles, so that definitely helps me make up my mind. Again, very awesome bike. Austen
Weldtwistbreak....so you got the other one huh? That's awesome! I can tell you this. the factory Akro slip-on map works great with these pipes, the Motohooligan box and the PCIII. It's so good I didn't even have to have it mapped. It's just a little rich IMO but not rich enough to worry about.
awesome bike(s). i have a street triple 675 with arrow race exhaust and a duke 690 with the fmf apex too. smaller versions of the bikes you have. both great bikes. btw - with your voice, you should go into entertainment and commercials.
@SPEIRMOR NO differences at all. This is in fact a 2008. The only difference between the 2008 and the proposed 2010s that KTM was going to bring was the paint scheme. That's it.
@bruzwa Well, I thought I left it in place. Perhaps it was never put back on after I had the header swapped out. Don at Scuderia West in San Franscisco was awesome to deal with and replaced the header as the one on the bike was damaged when the tracked the bike at Laguna Seca. So, it appears that the dealer here in GA didn't put the clip back on or he broke it.
@Bananimal65 interesting, mine broke the same clip also but I had it rewelded together. The only minor issue with mine though is it seems to pull the rear header out of the sleeve by 5mm, not a major issue but could be from mixing Akra and FMF..
How does the Duke copare to the Speed Triple? My last bike was a 2007 Speed Triple and i am now considering a 990 Superduke as my next bike. Are the SD's and SDR's reliable bikes? Never had a problem with my Speed. thx
@Reapers261 There is no comparison between the S3 and my SDR. Hands down, the S3 is a better and more reliable road bike while the SDR is a beast and about as flickable as a booger. It's retarded how easy it is to turn in. I would think you are not going to like going from the super smooth torquey power delivery of the S3 to the abrupt power delivery on the KTM. The fuel mapping on the KTM is rough around the edges. I had to put a milder throttle cam on the SDR to calm it down. It was that bad.
Fantastic bike and video! I live in Georgia as well and am suppose to getting a Superduke (standard) delivered this week! I can't wait! :)

@ejflotta Never did have to get it done. The Akropovic map works great with this setup.
Love the white color.Are there any other differences between yours and an '08 SDR?
@ktm990rule Yes, they come with the Y pipe.
Damn, that is a huge finger!
@Bananimal65
Awesome!.I'm looking for an "R" .Hard to find at the moment.Hoping i can ship the white plastics over from Europe down the road
@Bananimal65 Thanks for the reply. I will definitly test ride the SD before i buy.
Hi mate I have the same setup on my SDR, just wondering did you take the exhaust clamp off on the akra header under the bike?
