Nice review. When I use manual focus with Fujifilm lense, there is feature of automatic zoom focus. When I turn focus ring, it digitally zoom to the subject automatically making more precise focus. May I ask you, does it work same way if we adapt Leica M lens 6 bits with this Fujifilm adapter? Thank you.
Hey, that's a great question, and one I should have tested. I believe that when you turn the focus ring while using autofocus is that it does not magnify but instead overrides to manual focus. I hope that helps!
Great Idea, I'm pretty sure Metabones has an M to E mount adapter OR You can check out the Techart PRO Leica M Mount to Sony E-Mount Autofocus Adapter that we have for rent. I'm almost 100% certain you can manual focus even if it is an Autofocus mount
Anyone know if that evf in ovf mode (the one where there is a little evf window corresponding with the single focus point) works with these adapted lenses? This is my favorite way to manual focus on my x100
I have been a Lumix MFT guy for many years and I own a few (legendary) EF lenses which I mount to my GH5s and G9 via a Viltrox Speedbooster (with a resulting Iris of f1.2) purely for video (using Manual Focus only). Fast forward to 2023 and I bought a used X-pro 3 for street photography and then, last month, I bought a bargain XT-3 for Portraits n Weddings (just for friends n family) and I just bought a used Fringer ef-fx pro ii adapter and suddenly I have four badass lenses with AF that actually works!
I have the XT5 and when i mount my Voigtlander 35mm 1.5 when making changes to the SHUTTER or ISO i can see the changes being made thru the viewfinder, when changing the APERTURE it always reads 0, is this NORMAL? Thanks in advance.
Works but comes with culprits: full-frame lens on cropped sensor which doesn't make use of the Leica lens performance towards corners and borders of the frame. Better to use is a Leica M lens with a full-frame sensor based mirrorless camera like e.g. from Sony or Nikon with thinner sensor glass cover. The Fuji/M-lens combo works and delivers but it is not the same experience as with a rangefinder camera or both full-frame camera and lens in combination.
The only pity is their inability to use the whole lens. I know it's a cropped sensor, but I'd really like to see them figure that out since they should have a way by now to correct this. Trust me, I KNOW that the projection from the back of the lens is far too big at the focal point, so what I'm asking for seems impossible. But with some kind of prism, or mirrors, they could do it.
My travel/street combo is xpro3, a leica m6 and leica lenses. Best compact combo for digi/film minimal setup. Not really a waste when xpro3 is one of the best compact cameraa out there
Only for morons is that a waste. Sensor matters very little. X-Pro2 is a super enjoyable rangefinder, and the glass meant for Leica makes for excellent and fun outing.
Does this change the fstop? Because the lens is further away does this actually make the lens quicker?

Hi, any idea how Leica M 28mm Elmarit works on a Fuji camera? Thank you!
Yo! I'm sure it would interact well with the camera. Just remember your crop ratio with the apsc sensor of the Fuji
Have been thinking about trying the new Sony A7CR with Leica M glass for a small package. Is there a particular adapter you'd recommend?
for just manual focusing. Not auto

Read about thick filter stack on some of the Sony cameras that affect IQ when used with Leica M lenses. Not sure it applies to A7CR

Love that, I’m sure those things rip!
Is the AF acceptable, also with tele lens?
@@raulstef7472 sorry I only use manual focus for Video!

Yes its normal, since it is a manual lens. Unless you have electronic contact points on the lens itself, the values will be displayed at 0 by default.

Def agree
What full frame cameras have a thin sensor glass cover?

Adapting a (non-native) lens to the X-Pro* series always seemed strange to me. The OVF is the selling point of this camera.
Only for you. There are many other selling points of this stellar cam.
Pity, the soft focus revealed nothing about the lenses.
What a waste to put a Leica marvel onto an APSC Sensor...
Apsc carries benefits for some
