Personally, I would use the Alijo 12n 2 speed for deep drop slow pitch jigging. It would hold about 670 yard PE 3 (30 pound braid) and it would be perfect for fishing around 1000ft of water. It is light enough and powerful enough for most bottom fish. Or, fill it up with PE 6 (65 pound test) and jig for tuna. The Alijo feels like a good quality reel like the Daiwa Saltiga 35 2 speed (which is what I use) for about half the price

Check the spec sheet, would not recommend 50lb on this small of a reel.
