I just spit my morning coffee out laffing at Stephen's "confession" story!!! Tucci shooting right back at him "oh so you thought that God needed to actually hear your confession" just made me choke!!!! I had tears I was laffing so hard!!! Great start to my day!!!
My first confession was done at Catholic school and I was so young and so scared I peed myself in the confessional booth. I was so embarrassed, I told no one. To say our penance, everyone knelt along the altar to pray and then returned to the pews. Watching the other kids at the altar, I could tell who had been in my booth because the soles of their shoes were wet. Humiliated then, but I can laugh about it now.
I remember one kid whose penance was something like an entire rosary - the rest of us were wondering if he'd robbed a bank or something. We had to sit there for what seemed like forever, on those hard wooden pews, until he'd finished up. Whatever he'd done, he apparently didn't do it again - or at least, he didn't confess it.
The funniest first confession story I ever heard was a guy telling of how he was so nervous he didn't know what to say. However, he had a teenage sister and she gave him a tip and made him rehearse it. So he got into the confessional and when the priest asked he said "self abuse". The priest said, "I think I need to have a talk with your sister." 😀
What's there not to love about Stanley Tucci? His acting, to me, has always been so convincing that I truly thought he was who he played. I love it when I don't see the actor anymore but the person he/she plays, that's just darn good.
I really appreciate Stephen saying he’s not drinking until after the election, and acknowledging that he would really like a drink. That’s really setting a good example.
Pasta con tonno is simple to prepare and really good. I love how Italian Stanley Tucci is,aside obviously being a great, versatile actor. Love from Milan ❤🇺🇸💙💙💙💙💙💙 vote blue!
I was raised in an ultra orthodox Roman Catholic family. The mass was in Latin. Dark memories of physical and mental abuse inflicted by nuns who taught in half the classrooms. @@SuenosDeLaNocheI too, am no longer Catholic, and like you identify much more as atheist at present! Good to find others with similar experiences! My best to you, as well! The Christmas season seems more like a celebration of changing seasons for me. The commercialism has ruined it for me.

Happy to hear how dedicated both were about their cookbooks. I one cookbook and every recipe comes out perfect. And i am no cook. Excellent recipes, precise, and delicious!
This was such a charming exchange! I caught myself grinning and believe me, being on the grumpy side with most things, that was a revelation. I had to go kick the cat right after of course.
Great stuff and thank you for your email, I now feel like I know you personally, hehehe. I think you could sometimes bring out another chair and keep a couple of guests on stage at the same time ala the old Johnny Carson. Just a thought . Would have been interesting to keep Stanley on.. CHEERS!!! I watch you every morning from Germany. My best source of news.
Puttenesca marinara sauce was prepared and introduced by the ladies of the night in NYC. They were Italian street walkers who ate this when they took a quick break .
1st confession, I couldn't think of a sin. Told the teacher that & she said 'make something up'. Without any hint of irony. I realized then, it was all made up.
Stanley grew up in Peekskill?! I grew up in Hillcrest Park in Peekskill and then Yorktown. My two younger brothers were born in Peekskill Hospital in 68 & 72. where according to Wikipedia, Stanley was born?
Traumatic First confession on my part. As an abused child I blamed the abuse on myself, which I should have confessed but did not. Hence I thought I was damnd to hell!
Monsignor used to berate me (in Confession) for forgetting my morning prayers. He told me to hide one of my school shoes to remind myself... Then gave me the 10 Hail Mary's etc. for contrition. Ah, the memories.

Oh, Denise! So the next person into the confessional had a baptismal experience for their knees!

Ah bless 😮
What a gross religion. Sound like trauma to me.
I love him too, and also that he lives in my country!! He’s a treasure, a star, and a maestro.
Long may me be on our screens and our hearts. ♥️
"It ... sounded better in Latin" *Tucci just rolls in his chair laughing*

Wow! In my Cath family all was very secretive. Probably why I chucked it as soon as I moved out at 18!

This interview was way too short, I'd love to have a few drinks with Stanley Tucci. I think it would turn into a fun night.😂
He needs to come back and be the only guest: three long interview segments!
Love Stanley Tucci! Kinda reminds me of Danny Aiello(RIP)!
Glad he's doing well with Emily's Sister!
I wish they would have talked more about Stanley's new movie "Conclave".
I was hoping for a clip
@ammaleslie509 there are trailers on TH-cam 😊
Actually this interview was too short for my taste.

Stanley’s voice honestly sounds very similar to Johnny Carson’s!
I love me some Tucci and some Colbert. Together they make a meal.
Stanley is handsome. What an amazing actor
Need a podcast with these 2...
Oh please! let Stanley sit at the end finishing his drink!!!!!!!!
This is sooooo missing from today's shows & he'd be perfect to do it.
You & Master Tucci look like brothers

My wife calls him Stanley 'two cheeks' Tucci.
I call him 'the Tuch'...
he's one of my favorites!
@@NewMessage So he's got four cheeks, then...or is it six 🤔...four of his own and two extra that yr good wife gave him

Stephen, that one recipe? You got it right bc yes! It does taste funny.
😂😂 Brilliant response!

Tucci Gang!
Why would I buy a cookbook when I would be thinking, "Is this the recipe that is wrong?"? Stephen just share.
