Hi, thanks for watching our videos! Yes, if I remember correctly the free space was only around 40GB. However, on the bottom of the tablet is a micro SD card slot allowing up to an additional 64GB. This should be plenty for most, especially with the current trends of people using cloud storage now. As these hybrid machines mature and become more popular you will see the inbuilt SSD drives get larger.
I see. We found the ATIV trackpad a bit on the small side also. It sounds like you may find the HP better than the others. The only thing is the circular raised pattern they have put on it, its a bit different. We couldn't get the visual effect on our videos, but if you google image search the HP Envy X2 you will see the trackpad pattern in stock images.
Hi, thanks for watching our videos! We are thinking about getting the W510 for a review. We expect it to have a lesser build quality, but it costs a lot less. Here in NZ we only have 64GB SSD versions. The screen size is only 10.1".
Hi, thanks for watching our videos. What did you find terrible about the trackpads? The HP is a little different, it has a circular ring pattern, its not smooth like all other trackpads. You feel the pattern as your finger moves around the trackpad. The gestures worked fine, and the buttons work as expected.
I have one, and it is pretty good. Yes, the PC is in the screen part and has its own battery, so it continues to work fine. The USB ports are in the keyboard, as is the standard SD card slot. There is a micro SD slot in the screen section, and I keep all my photos and music on it - 64 GB. It supports Flash too.
Hi, yes they can be difficult to see outdoors. Sometimes even in very bright rooms if you have windows behind you, you get reflections. However, these IPS displays are better than non-IPS displays. You will have problems with outdoors use with most touch screens because they have a gloss surface. It has a 400nit max brightness, so this should assist a bit with outdoors use.
Hi, thanks for watching our videos. No we didn't end up keeping it. The sound performance was not good. The build quality is excellent, but we watch a lot of TH-cam videos and sound is very important. It sounds too tinny with no bass. Also the volume doesn't go very loud. The Samsung sound is much better.
I would recommend both, depending what you need it for. I find the Samsung has better sounding audio with deeper bass. The HP aluminium finish is very nice.
Hi, Windows have their own store called Windows Store, its basically the same thing as the Apple Store and Google Play. Because it's newer, it has less apps available but they are growing it at a fast pace.
I would recommend the Samsung Smart PC Pro, or Microsoft Surface Pro if you wanted to use a hybrid pc for programming. The X2 will be able to do some programming, but it won't be the best experience.
Correct. The available settings are a cut down version of the full Beats Audio settings. The only setting was "Surround". That's it. And that did nothing. There is no Rock, Pop etc on this computer. If sound is important to you, like watching TH-cam videos and music, I suggest to test one at a shop first, then compare with the Samsung.
Hi. Not really. When you first unbox any laptop/tablet it's best to give it a good charge overnight. Some manufacturers state this in the owners manuals, and some don't.
I have found that all of the hybrids' screens wobble slightly when typing on the keyboard. I type a lot, and this made them unacceptable for me. Also, when in tablet mode they are too heavy and large to use like an ipad for long periods of time. Hybrids are neat at first, but the novelty wears off. I now use a touch screen laptop, it's much nicer to type on, and easier to watch videos on. I would recommend the Lenovo Yoga hands down.
Thanks for showing us the HP Envy X2. In your experience which one works best with touchscreen, windows 8 tiles and windows 7 version, and the keyboard dock - the HP Envy X2 or the Samsung Ativ Smart PC?
Could you recommend it over Asus t100? I've run out of time and the desicion's still not made!:( Is it better than Asus t100? Is it worth buying? I was going to buy Asus but I've seen it personally and it has a small cheap uncomfortable keyboard, while I need a very comfortable one - I will use it a lot. I also wonder if 10,1 won't be too small for work - mostly word and internet. I think 11,6 would be a better choice but I'm not sure about it. Please help, I will appreciate it sooo much.
Hi! I'm really liking the x2. It feels lighter in the hand compared to the Samsung, because its about 40 grams lighter. And it just feels more solid, with no flex at all, and in sits a lot firmer in the dock than the Samsung. Although it has no Pen, it doesn't bother me because I never really used it on the Samsung anyway. The only negative at the moment is the sound. Its very tinny sounding, like turning the treble on maximum on your iPod. Theres no bass. Samsung has much better speakers.
Is the resolution bothering you? I mean did you see any dots on there? In fact this HP only has 720p (1366x768 pixels) if we compare it to acer w700 which has 1080p. And would you like to make a video about the camera quality? Because i found it very very bad on acer w700.
Hi, it sounds strange, but the Samsung has MUCH better audio sound than the HP. I was expecting the HP to be better due to it having Beats Audio, but it sounded horrible, almost no bass to the sounds, and doesn't go very loud. It's one of the main reasons I didn't keep it very long.
Do yoh still have the samsung smart pc I would like to see a side by side comparison since specs are similar but both are uniquely different. Would be greatly appreciated and help with future buyers. Thanx
When you are using it not with the dock. Can you still have it with the normal desktop version of windows? And will it support flash. So I can watch live streams on it?
nice review, ryt now i am using Samsung Galaxy Tab and Note 2 on a daily basis. just wanna know if the device needs the keyboard hardware for charging or the power plug can be plugged in to the tablet itself?
Don't forget to say some window tiles apps you start in win 8 there is no way to exit unless you turn it off the unit there is no X or exit once you start it your screwed if you want to end it
i just bought one of these and for some reason when I type using the keys when wrting a letter, the letters on the screen show up but not at the moment you press a key; there is often a delay. I also exprienced that my cursoe freezzes up and I have no idea what's causing it..
The HP Envy X2 is nice, but it's much too expensive - as well as Ativ Smart PC and Asus Vivo Tab (around 800 - 900 EUR in Germany). I've bought an Acer W510 for 499 EUR (only 32 GB, but extended with a 64 SDXC). Off course it's not the same built quality than the HP, but it's a really good option if you're looking for an affordable Windows 8 convertible.
one thing, are you saying that samsung has better audio than beats?? Just asking cuz i'm planning to buy one of these but don't know if ATIV or HP envy x2... If someone can answer me i would be thankful.
Hello, Good Review. Keep it up :) I'm just worried about the storage.. 64Gigs is just too less. the actual available space would be like 40 rite? How do we go about this.. some HD movies would take up all the space.I did observe SD card slot but then, how much can one put on an SD? And no digitizer too. This is just a killer, any thoughts on this? :-) Please reply to this.
Hi, thanks for watching our videos. Not sure at the moment, but hope to get it. Make sure you subscribe to be the first to know when the videos are published! thanks!
You do realise that to close an app you swipe from the top middle of the screen and swipe down to the bottom? There are no close or X buttons. Please google "how to close a windows 8 app" before posting false comments, thanks.

I like how you say you "might" do something, knowing full well you will definitely do it.

Hi, yes, when undocked it works the same. It has full Flash support, perfect for streaming.

thank you for taking the time to make such a great video and videos on this item! I really learned a lot =]

Hi, the charger can be plugged into the keyboard dock, or the bottom of the tablet itself. Both ways work.
Hi. Not really. When you first unbox any laptop/tablet it's best to give it a good charge overnight. Some manufacturers state this in the owners manuals, and some don't.
Hi, from memory it was around 40GB free space.
its windows 8 and yes its the full version.. he said it in one of the videos
Hi, its the same. It has no bass and the maximum volume doesn't go very loud.
I would recommend the Samsung Smart PC over the HP X2 for outdoor use.

Hi, thanks for watching our videos! Not from Santa, that's for sure!
You need to buy Office, or install your own copy if you already have one.
Could you recommend it over Asus t100? I've run out of time and the desicion's still not made!:( Is it better than Asus t100? Is it worth buying? Or better yet is I possible to do a side by side of your top convertible/hybrid pc
do you have to connect the charging cable to the keyboard in order to charge the tablet
Hmm... interesting. We heard is uses a different type of technology from the S Pen. But we will test and see.

I have had an HP Tochsmart tm2 for about 2 years. It came with Windows 7, DirectX 11, and with iCoe5. Should I upgrade?
Have you tried the Samsung's pen on the device just in case it works?
When you are using it not with the dock. Can you still have it with the normal desktop version of windows? And will it support flash. So I can watch live streams on it?
It has an Intel Atom cpu running at 1.8 GHz. This is fine for general stuff but is likely to struggle for gaming and if you try to edit videos.
really? like even when you changed some of the sound settings like from defult to rock or R and B?
I wonder if the heat was related to charging.
nice review, ryt now i am using Samsung Galaxy Tab and Note 2 on a daily basis. just wanna know if the device needs the keyboard hardware for charging or the power plug can be plugged in to the tablet itself?
Hey is it worth buying for the odd bit of work? I only surf the web watch some movies and type a bit! Worth a buy?

Can you pleaaasse make a little video showing how minecraft runs on this sweet baby because i think many people will like it!
The start up time looks to be a bit slower than the ativ pc pro. Is that correct?
Is there a digitizer built in with this laptop?
is it good for programming purpose too??
is there an amount of time you have to charge it before you use it
The TM2 is more powerful than the X2. But the X2 is more portable. Depends if you think you need more portability, and want to spend the money.
And one more question please. Does it run intel core i3/i5?
When is that? Did you get it?
there sure is a power led lite its on the light on the bottom middle
does it have a backlit keyboard ? planning on buying one today .
Great video! The hp envy is the best.
How is the sound on this device when its plugged into the dock?
what would you recommend hp envy x2 or the Samsung ativ

Unfortunately no. There has been rumours HP might release one.
Its just for school and leisure: Word, Powerpoint, Excel and games.
¡thanks! for you video
Cool I am defenetly buying one
I'd also like to know!
thanks..
I wish Apple had on of these because I want to be able to Spple
HP lower the price to $699. I really want this laptop but the damn Atom processor really scares me. I had bad past experience.
Hi, no it's not. The Intel i5 is much more powerful.
Apple apps (Clash of Clans) on it
How fast it is has nothing to do with the operating system. Its because it runs an SSD.
hey im on that now lol
full windows 8
