Even though I've fallen back into the world. I'll never forget the day Jesus found me June 20th, 2012 at age 17. Didn't grow up in church , didn't believe in God. This was the first hymn I heard as I accepted Christ into my life. 10 years later this song still replays in my heart. I'm so ashamed of my sin, but as the Bible says , God takes pleasure in those who are of a contrite spirit and broken heart 💔 . I know he loves me, and my love for him will never be enough. All I can say is I stand Redeemed by the Blood of our Savior Jesus.
Hi Rob. Its great to hear that you came to the Saviour as a young man of 17. I too came to Jesus when I was 17. That was nearly seventy years ago. Although there have been many times that I have failed to live up to the standard that Jesus set in His Word, and have let Him down, He has never let me down. The one thing that the Bible teaches us; is that God's grace is sufficient to forgive any sin, provided we turn from our sin and start to live for Him. Its not how much we love Him that counts; but how much He loves us! There's an old chorus that is so true - "There's a way back to God from the dark paths of sin; there's a door that is open and you may go in: at Calvary's cross is where you begin, when you come as a sinner to Jesus." There is no limit to how often God will forgive, if we will only turn back to Him.
If God can forgive those who murdered him on the cross, you can be sure there is nothing that can separate you from his love except your choice to opt out and refuse his marvelous gift. It doesn’t sound like you plan to do that.
Read the parable of the prodigal son, it was written just for you! It is about a believer who goes far away from God but God is delighted to see his child return to him! He rejoices over the lost sheep and will kill the fatted calf for those who have wandered far away but return in faith. It is all about faith. Believe in Jesus and keep seeking Him. He died for you whilst you were dead in sins but He is for you when you believe in Him. Believe and walk in faith. Read your Bible and stick with a good ministry. I recommend Ichthys (found online) and also Bible Academy (found on TH-cam). I have prayed for you brother!
I do try and include all the verses in hymns and songs, however, it's not always possible to find vocal pieces which contain all the verses. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. God bless.

I have come across several songs that I can't find a single person singing the "lyrics" to the song on the entire www (internet), let alone those that contain all the verses, or that don't change the lyrics (and most times end up with something vague contrasted with the original words). I have looked at the verse you mention, and whilst I agree there is only one Holy Spirit; the third person of the Godhead, I believe that Fanny Crosby, who wrote the hymn, was speaking of the people (spirits) who had died and were with the Lord, and not the Holy Spirit Himself.
