The college I went to in the 80s was in the middle of nowhere, (MO) but that college recruited heavily from Chicago and those kids brought with them mixtapes of WBMX and other stations and thus began my education into "house" music and a dance called "jack your body". As a music major Chicago house and Detroit techno to this day remain my strongest influences. Thank you Frankie Knuckles.

I recorded and listened to this mix live in my bedroom on the southside of Chicago. This was during the times when you could go to any neighborhood on the southside of Chicago during the weekend and it would be at least one basement party going on with hundreds of kids there partying to House Music and that's where you heard some of the best dj's with skills besides the same names you always hear about. My Chicago heads know what I'm talking about. Memories!!!!

This was my freshman year at Whitney M. Young H.S. I was still feeling my way through House Music. It was WBMX and Frankie Knuckles that helped show me the way. I still remember sneaking down to the Music Box on 21st and Michigan to listen to music. I am a House Head 4 Life!!!
Being able to sit down & hear good music with good friends has turned into life changing experience for a lot of folks including myself & this brother put it down on wax for such a long time that it seems unreal now that he's gone. We've lost some DJ's in the past but this one hit us in the DJ community very hard because when this brother was spinning live or you were listing to a replay of one in his sets he always made you fill as if you were there with flawless blends of beats & rythems, he was able to take you some place else & put your mind at ease. He can rest peacefully knowing he made it possible for a lot of people from the "Hood" or inner city to be able to travel the world & see places or people they didn't know existed because of his music.
