That's different the only way the church get any money is from preaching. Those donations goes to paying for bills, preacher, and repairs. Not all pastors are money hungry but the ones that's not are greatly appreciated.
After what the ARC did with the $600,000,000 + they received from donations to rebuild infrastructure in Haiti, (which was nothing) I'm surprised anyone would donate to them. Please always give to local charities with a history of putting money and resources in people's hands.

Isn't the Red Cross having a huge benefit on TV tomorrow ( 9/12)? I believe the reason people are so quick to donate to the Red Cross and the Salvation Army is because of their name recognition. If some of the local (legitimate) charities in these areas were publicized donations could go there instead.
