If you're dying in late rounds, you could try upgrading mocha first so you have money to upgrade your stuff at the last rounds. Taking a few hits early is fine!
If you're dying on the mid rounds though, make sure you have pineberry at wave 6 and then dont upgrade anything else until you have one of your mochas upgraded to lvl 4, then upgrade pineberry to lvl 3, and then get another mocha to lvl 4. and then finally you can just focus on upgrading and placing eggnogs
