This video is part of Ann's Workshop Express Series. A series of FREE TH-cam pottery project workshops that are condensed into 10 minute (or less) videos. In this video Ann shows you how to make the Rattle Top Lid. Ann will also demonstrate the versatility of the Rattle Top by displaying it on several pieces. This project can be completed using basic pottery supplies. If you would enjoy a deeper learning of Ann's painting, decorating, and glazing process then check out Ann's Video Workshop Series. These workshops are very detailed (typically 1.5 - 2 hours in length) where Ann provides step by step instruction and are designed to help potters take their work to new levels of craftsmanship and artistry. vimeo.com/show...

what a sweet idea for a lid, great that it fits lots of bits too. thanks for sharing
So cool 😎
Thanks for watching!
Love the handle!!! I bet you could make them as a "rattle" - no glaze on bottom - but it would still be great!!! Thank you for all your wonderful tutorials.
Great idea. I bet I could paint. a rather elegant rattle too :-)
Hi Ann~ thank you for sharing videos. You’re a great teacher with sweet hearted. 😊 A question here 🙋🏻♀️. Do I need to make an air hole in the rattle?
Yep! It is advised that you poke a hole in the top to avoid cracking during firing. Thanks for watching.
Wonderfully creative lid! Did you glaze fire using stilts??
If anyone can paint the rattle - it will be you and it will be beautiful!!!!
Thanks Tricia. I did stilt the lid. I pained the morning glory with underglaze around the lid. To glaze, I glazed the entire piece except the morning glory. I then took a 2 inch stilt with a hole in the middle, turned the lid upside down and positioned the handle through the stilt hole and let the stilt rest on the morning glory.
@@Spinquilter Yeah!! Thank you so much!! :-)
