I can only imagine being in college or grad school with utube. I remember getting just stuck in philosophy and it taking more than one night to understand wtf the author was trying to (albeit poorly) communicate. This was only circa 2000!

I am currently struggling with writing a piece on Weber for my graduate studies. Many thanks for this video; very helpful for understanding his concepts and insightful for modern experience.

I don't think Weber mentioned election in his original essay on the three types of authority. On contrary, he believed an unelected bureaucracy was the purest form of rational-legal authority. The bureaucracy is based on competency and established rules but not necessarily elections.

This is lovely. Karl Marx girl here, but I'd take Weber over Durkheim any day, hahaha. All these years later and you're still helping people!

Can I say that it’s pronounced as ‘Veber’ and Weber because he is German. Also thank you for this!

There once was a speaker on TH-cam
Whose sound was like clinking ice cubes
      She tried very hard
      With sprays, tubs of lard,
      Alas, a prosody noob. 😊
