I’ve had a soulmate, a person whom I’ve always loved, a person who shares her love for rain, coffee, and photography with me (we both first met each other during our first college years and we became close friends)… And then I was going abroad for studying, we fell apart (even though we have never confessed our feelings to each other but we always felt there must have been something beyond a pure friendship btw us). Since I knew that long-distance relationship would never work out, I’ve chosen to silence my feelings for her and stopped liking her. I did break her heart by distancing her, avoiding her calls/texts and jumping onto a relationship with another girl. We both then were in a relationship with someone else. Many years passed, unfortunately she’s got nobody by her side now, and I’ve been in such a toxic relationship which nearly ends. We’re now both feeling lonely, the way she talked to me couple weeks ago did sadden me. I can feel her loneliness, I can see her sadness, but I can do nothing for her. I’m now so regretting for not confessing my love for her, and for cruelly breaking her heart. I’ve always loved her and will ever do. I just make a wish today (today’s also actually my birthday) that she won’t be lonely on her birthday next week; and I always wish she will be taken care of, that she doesn’t have to feel the loneliness again. I wish that I’d be able to go back to my home country, to fill happiness onto her life again, to make up to all the days I left her for loneliness. Today I did wish, on a rainy day, without her… maybe this time, maybe not…
