In response to Ich Goga - the experiment was not very successful. of the six drill grafts, five dried up quite quickly and died. One survived for a year but failed to grow. On the other hand, five of the six ordinary grafts grew rapidly and the tree is now converted to the new variety.

There are now 6 drill grafts and six ordinary grafts on the tree so we will be able to compare the two methods.
