I just turned 58 with almost waist length natural 4b hair. My edges are 24 inches long just like the rest of my hair. Wearing our natural hair requires commitment. No chemicals ever again, I love my hair too much. And no, I'm not mixed with anything, I'm black with dark skin. All black women have "good hair" let's love it and take care of it.

As a native Houstonian who watched Beyonce grow up from a child to a woman, she has had long hair all of her life as did Solange. Her mother is a professional hairstylist who took care of their hair in her salon here in Houston. The ignorance of our people claiming this is a lace front wig she's wearing in this video is ridiculous. You can clearly see the hair growing from the root of her scalp. Have people become that delusional by wigs that they can't tell the difference between natural versus wigs.
BTW... good hair is healthy hair PERIOD!

BS. When Beyonce started off in destiny's child with those crusty braids Tina had her in, you can see that her hair was damaged from the roots. If Beyonce had all this hair all her life than we would have seen it way before now (25 years in the business). There's a thing called hair infusions that most of you are not yet aware of. Black women with natural long hair = Aaliyah, Kim Porter, Kenya Moore. Did any of them wear lace fronts and weaves for 25 years and never showed off their natural hair? Stop playin in our face Beyonce! Why you think she made a song called Becky with the good hair? Cuz she ain't Becky.

For whatever it's worth to anyone, I have straight hair, I'm not black, but I was born in 1972 and my mother had high fashion magazines, and I remember seeing these dark skinned black models with short, natural hair, and they were so tall and slim (I'm short and not slim) and the models looked like the most elegant, gorgeous, and breathtaking women. That photo made such an impact on me, that to this day, I equate elegance and high fashion with very dark skinned women with natural hair. I'm not saying that the California blonde blue-eyed ( I was not that either- far from it) didn't have an impact on me too, it did, but HIGH FASHION- HAUTE COUTURE was always very dark skinned women with natural hair. Childhood images have a profound effect on the psyche, so I never understood, on an aesthetic or emotional level, the issue of "good hair" vs. "bad hair."

All afro textures are beautiful, especially 4C hair or otherwise. And that should be the only takeaway from Beyoncé's video. We can enjoy the process of looking after our own hair. It's crucial to recognise that her products cater to all textures and are customised through a questionnaire to meet individual needs. Its not that hard to discern. And I look forward to my wash day with my beautiful 4C hair.

I cant wait to watch this and as someone that almost lost her hair wearing wigs, I am so blessed that my hair bounced back and has grown so much. As Black women we need to remember that we just need a weekly simple home routine, shampoo hair, deep condition, and seal in the moisture with a leave in and oil or grease. It tends to get over complicated if we overthink it. Also trims with a professional scissor, you can get them easily online. Plus health and diet. My motto is you dont need to have Beyonce money or stylists to be able to grow your hair or maintain it naturally. Our hair grows regardless if we take care of it.

I was little skeptical when I saw this video. There were parts in video when she was holding the front of her hair as if she didn't want anything to get pulled. I think the video started off with her real hair when it was being washed. But I don't believe the end product was all her hair. I feel they added clipins. Her hair looked too perfect, also her hairline at the end was too perfect. The pricetag on these products are also extranomical. The whole thing is ridiculous.

Fumi. First of all, you look fabulous. Something you said reminded me of my maternal grandma's youngest sister. She used to say , "good hair is healthy hair that stays on your head and doesn't wind up on the floor." Mind you the lady had long hair that she kept short and dyed ash blonde. She was trying to get us to understand, while simultaneously deprogramming what social engineers had programmed, that God creates all of us, regardless of hair length or texture. And we are beautiful in his sight. If we can dispense with the "hair wars" we would be so much better for it. Compliment people whose styles compliment their facial features and head shapes. Teach the children to do the same. This could be a beautiful teaching moment.

But when you have severe weather changes, it can damage your natural hair too. I love my natural hair, which is why I refuse to press it and put lots of products in it. I can do all that to a wig and wear what I want for however long I choose too. Every type of natural hair is beautiful, and wigs are also beautiful. I believe black hair is to most beautiful ❤❤❤❤.
