I burst into tears when you started reading"The Mother's Letter. I lost my only child/son in 2013 when he was just 35. He would have been 46 this year.
I am so so sorry Rozanna. There are no words for that kind of grief
I’m so sorry to hear about your son and I want you to know that you’re not alone in your loss. Take care of yourself and God bless you.
Sweetheart, my heart is with you 😭 I lost my last child full term stillborn the day after my babyshower. It is Horrible burying a child.
I'm sorry ❤ my son passed away in 2020 he had just turned 30 less than 2 weeks before hand. It's a very empty feeling. He was my only child. Big hugs
We found an old trunk once. Lifted the lid, and it had Florence Aubert written on it. My gran was with some of the first English immigrants that came to South Africa. Her name was Florence Aubert. It's a family heirloom now.
That necklace and bracelet it was incredible!!! I can’t believe how relevant the old videos still are. I just love this channel.🎉
I have a whole box of cut picture jaspers that were personally selected by my late husband from slabs from various mines custom cut for him. He made jewelry from them. These are all stones he never got to use. Some are smaller, some are large enough for men's belt buckles or bolos. He would sit with a template going over a slab of stone until he found just the picture he wanted and then draw the shape. We had a particular stone cutter who did all our work. My personal favorites are from the Starry Night mine - they look like Van Gogh paintings. I am about to have some work done on some of my vintage trading post jewelry and I think I am going to see if my Native American jeweler might be interested in them. My husband sold him a few pieces of his work which he resold in his shop. I have been buying from the same Native American jeweler for almost 40 years. When my son was born 37 years ago, he commissioned a baby sized bolo and collar tips to match a child sized bracelet that belonged to my mother. Glen my jeweler goes on buying trips several times a year and he chose the artist to create the baby pieces for us. But yes - I have some picture jaspers aka scenic jaspers that look almost like photographs. I think I only have about 4 pieces of jewelry left that my husband made - and I wear them - including a Starry Night pendant with a carved silver moon hidden on the back. My late father in law was a master jeweler at Van Clef and Arpels. He designed many of the figural pieces Van Clef was known for back in the 40s and 50s. Ballerinas, etc. I have none of those pieces but I do have all of his original drawings of his designs. My husband only fooled around with silver jewelry. He was by trade a watchmaker. We owned a watch and clock repair business as well as a school and appraisal business called The Sands of Time.
What a fabulous store‼️ Love your finds, but have to say the kitty on the Teddy bear was so adorable ❣️😻
The tin lined box is a humidor...well worth $15. Fun video tonight- thank you!
I agree! That's worth the 15 dollars!! It would sell for more.
The little Santa blow mold was good ❤
Wow Dawn, you found some beautiful and unique pieces. I have a very unique picture Jasper pendant, I bought it 15 years ago, rarely wear it.
WOW Dawn! You always find the best jewellery! The Victorian gold pin is divine. And the ring you got for yourself is gorgeous. I love everything you found at this store! ❤️🇭🇲
The jewelry you found there was amazing! Love your jewelry videos Dawn! ❤
You always find the best high quality jewelry. ❤
So glad to see the necklace I had waited anxiously to hear about. Hope you are feeling better,so much love to you!
I love this haul. The pieces are really keepers. ❤
That lady that helped you was humming the whole time you were looking at the mirrored piece holding jewelry. Funny l hum like that. She made me smile.
Speaking of delightful, you’re delightful. Oh my, 😢had me crying at the hand towel.
yeah ~ thanks so much for going back to the older ones Kari~ I really really thank you :)
I'm a huge fan of picture/landscape jasper. Those pendants are exquisite! Wonerful haul. ❤
Beautiful items you purchased Dawn! Wonderful store too. Merry Christmas! 🎄 🎅 ⛄ 🎁
Oh my goodness I’m drooling over this haul wow❤️😊
Fun shopping trip. I liked the store. I wanted to mention that I really liked the cameo and jade bracelet and the hair clip. I loved all the necklaces you chose especially the green one and zodiac necklace. Thank you Dawn for taking me along
Gorgeous jewelry haul! Thank you for taking us along with you! I love these videos of your Dawn😃
Great store! Great scores! The picture jasper is extraordinary! Congratulations 🎊 see you in chat!
Happy new year, you hooked me. I had my son buy me a loop with black light for a christmas gift. thanks I found my first beautiful brooch of glowy green and purple glass ! vintage
Oh my goodness, when you picked up the A Mothers Letter. I did the same thing you did! I thought no don’t read anymore! Teared up and everything! I just joined your channel and I love it!❤️
Thank you so very much, I learned a lot.
I have learned JUST so much from you. Just so much. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and everything else in between
Hey Dawn my name is Dawn I stumbled across ur video I will be looking more closely at thrift stores for now on
Just bought a similar jade and gold bracelet from auction in the UK--for 450 GBP...so their pricing is spot on.
So happy for you both congratulations on your views. Merry Christmas
That silver two ball ring , I have bangle that would match exactly to my bracelet , it is from
Peru obviously hand made ‘70’s silver :))
Hi,I also love thrift stores. Love watching what you find.
Necklace and bracelet set is gorgeous and that 2nd picture jasper too!
Hi Dawn 🌟 Fabulous finds! The necklace and bracelet set are absolutely stunning! Being an Edinburgh girl,, it's pronounced "Edinbru" 🤗 Hope all's well and happy with you my friend?! Take care 🩷✌️😘
The picture Agate is amazing.
Dan Hurd is a miner and he pulled a picture agate that looked like the ocean. I think he has some on his website but it’s not set in gold like these are. Amazing
Just amazing finds but worth the prices. Hope you get the margins you need to continue your thrifting trips!
Love thé jasper picture pendants !
The little drummer boy figure probably had a lamb with it. Not a poodle.
There are pawn shop prices. Cuz I go to a lot of pawn shops and buy gold and silver because there are a lot of very unique and older pieces that I have found.
I'm so excited !
Gorgeous items! LOVE circle jasper pendant, "ring" necklace and your new ring. The Japanese cufflinks could be Toshikane (?). Wish you all the best. From Ukraine❤.
You did amazing at this store a real jackpot on the jewelry
The VIctorian pin I believe is a lady's watch pin. You hang a little watch (upside down) from the hook!
Sam is delightful, I have worked in thrift shops and not everyone can be friendly day after day 😆 what a wonderful lil shop!!
That is beautiful!! Hope it’s a small size😊
I love the same ring you loved at towards the end. You should keep it.
The jewelry is all amazing.
The landscape agate pieces I love and have see at gem shows.
Danni would love this store!
I'm making an Opera cake and watching you shop for goodies. Amazing finds Dawn 😊
@@galinag.8386 yes, it's a very long and tedious task.
But, the results are heavenly.
Main ingredients, sponge is made with almond meal .
If you go on TH-cam and type in Opera cake , there's a few to choose from. Honestly! It takes a while but it's easy to follow and make.
A metal lined box is usually a humidor for keeping cigars. 😊
That necklace & bracelet set could make "what's your sign" seem cool
That wood box lined in metal could be a humidor, the insert would be soaked in water and it would provide moisture release at a slow rate for the cigars.
The green jasper necklace looks like owyhee picture jasper. That old victorian pin could have been used as a watch pin also. Could take the fringe thing off and interchange with a watch.
The necklace at the beginning of your video that you said might be gold filled....I think they are brown pearls.
Wow wow wow, amazing
I love that last ring that you didn’t buy but my favorite was the Victorian pendant that was fabulous
The silver necklace with the rectangular pendant looks like labradorite to me.
Now that is one collection Dawn, think a lot of came from one person who collected beauty. Hope you are doing ok, bit worried about you. A big hug from The Netherlands.
Thanks Jasmin! On the new channel tonight with an earring show~ we will see how my voice holds :)
@@HUDSONVINTAGE Maybe you can find out after all the hectic weeks before christmas how sending to my country goes, cause so much we don't have over here and I collect mainly 925 or sterling. And big necklaces ofcourse. If I for example combine shipment of several buys? I wish I knew. I just love what you buy. You take good care of yourself ok, us 50 women need our extra supplements and rest ;-)
I think the one with the green pendant it from Bali Indonesia. I have been there and bought their jewelry.
Drooling 🤤
Tell the manager give you a discount a least 1% you bought all the jewelry in the store 😂
You could really make money on that little blow mold Santa. He was in great shape. 😊😊
33.19 looks like a cigar box ;)
That pendant that had a hook at bottom above 18K tassels l think might be to hang another something behind tassels. ?? Love it and you.
Your audio cut out when looking at The Christmas items. Love the jewelry! ❤ Merry Christmas 😊
It’s a humidor for cigars
Hallo. Love your videos. Similar tase. I've subscribe. I've already learned a lot. Our shop does not look like this☺️ South Africa.❤❤
I want that second malachite necklace SO bad!!! Is it still available by chance? I know this was a while ago…❤
I DO LOVE WATCHING YOU AND I'M IN THE EAST COAST,BUT MOST OF THAT JEWELRY CAME FROM TIFFANY OR ZALES:(IT'S OUTRAGEOUS THAT I'M LOOKING AT PRICES FROM THE THRIFT STORE, OVER 200/400 THAT'S A BIT MUCH:(
Well thank you for watching and if you watch to the end you will benefit so much and improve your knowledge ❤️
5.00 for a blow mold is unheard of you should always grab them they are getting very scarce! Just saying.
Amazing video. Do you still have the silver bracelet with the birds? I would be interested in it.
Will you offer a shopping trip with you so you can tell me what to buy for my Ebay store !!!🎉🎉😂
You should get the girl with the long green coat. They sell for high. 😊😊😊
Hi 👋 Dawn 😊😊😊
Hello I love those little silver round earrings they have a little stone in the middle. I’m not sure what it is and you said they were from Israel. Could you please get back to me and let me know if you still have those I would appreciate it. Thank you.
I would skip the pin and get the ring. The ring is more wearable.
Still watching but isn't that $125 silver necklace (the long one with all the rings) Hector Aguilar? I know I have some with that sig.
I really need to spend an hour going over it! Thank you so much for watching and writing
Hope you don’t mind me correcting how you pronounce Edinburgh 24:05 it’s said Edin-borough ❤❤
Do you mind sharing where this thrift store is located? Thanks! Wonderful video!
I believe that metal lined wood box was used to heat people's feet who were riding in sleighs or carriages in cold weather. They'd put coals in the box.
Oh, I was thinking a humidor or coffee storage minus the two smaller canisters, right if the metal is lead. But I can certainly acquiesce to your idea.
Please focus on the mark a little bit longer. Thanks❤
❤❤❤
The glowing green ring? A Paraiba tourmaline is possible. Best piece there if so.
Egads! I hope I did not miss that! I think you are talking about the emerald one, I dod go back and thought I spotted everything
@@carollshaw1016 I understand, she did not bring the ring close enough to see. Possible Zambian emerald or even green garnet with that glow. My guess is Tourmaline.
Gentle pronunciation correction Edinburgh is pronounced Edinborough. Love all your finds and scores “the onion FF”
❤❤❤😊
Why are people leaving Northern California? Taxes?
Hi Ashley there a are a lot of reasons, it's best to read more informative sources. It's not my department!
We live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and California is descending upon us. The Toyota headquarters relocated here from CA and the headquarters for the PGA moved here from CA in the last year. Lots of companies from CA are moving here.
Supppper overpriced for a second hand shop. This is what angers me about thrift shops because they get everything donated and they make stuff the same price as new jewelry
They buy it- and not overpriced. Not everything is cheap- thank you so much for watching and I hope you give me a try ❤️
I always watch your videos and think they have better stuff where she lives. I guess that isn't true because you are shopping in my neighborhood this week. I barely browse the jewelry cabinets at Sammies. I am still learning so I guess I just learned to look closer. I liked everything you bought but would have only recognized the taxco earrings and I would have bought the barrette because it was beautiful and sterling.
Thank you for saying that! Also shout out to Grass Valley woot woot!
