TBF, the gunplay in GTA IV was hit or miss depending on what you used to play the game. On controller guns actually had recoil and spread but on M&K all guns are just lasers, even worse than GTA V/Online guns
I loved playing as a cop with actual missions, can't get into the criminal missions too much even though I enjoy them, I'm more into militant or law enforcing roles. Also r* definitely needs to reincorporate the movement mechanics like crouching as well as cops being smart and more human like GTA 4's police into GTA 6, among other things I thought about that might be cool such as animal companions like Chop(maybe from an expensive pet store), parkour mechanics, visible slinged back and holstered thigh weapons, more crossed personal clothing customization, more different weapons like flame throwers, riot shields, and samurai swords(or just longer and better melee weapons), and finally a hunting business like in Red Dead Redemption ll online or the GTA V's Cletus missions with Trevor that also becomes an adversary mode where you're either a hunter or a random deadly animal and have to fight eachother till one survives(Idk, think it'd be cool.)

The gunplay was so good in GTA IV. In GTA V everyone would just use sticky bombs and laser accreate assault rifles.
