Thanks for your great mod and instructions. I did the same with switch but I decided to have the MOW position pointing to the back just incase I'm mowing around low tree limbs. Your switch would get flicked to back lapping. 😁

@@Iggs_1 I used probably the same switch, 240v 6amp. By propulsion, do you mean self propelled. I'm only going to use as a push cylinder. Anyway, which switch did you select to use for back lapping and propulsion? When you switch to back lapping mode, do your wheels also rotate?
@parkerkjmr yeah mate, once they are engaged, they are engaged. Benefit was when i am pushing it reel does not spin( having the right length of locking pins it helps…) there is another video with latest switch i was using. Has a set up to slow reel down for back lapping. Having it self propelled was increasing the amps need and melting down my switch- i was using a 20 kg weight on top of it LOL- 😂

Based on Ozito “set up” it lead a development for battery power for a diversity of Real Reel Mowers. Check out my other videos- Qualcast-Atco- and now Cox. 🤩
Interesting. I have a burnt out ozito drilll driver. I think the forwards reverse switch from this should be up to the job. I'm alreay out of warranty so thinking of splicing it in on the handle after the saftey switch (or at least running the wire up that way), that way when I get a stray twig jammed in the reel I can reverse out without bending down for the switch. I have just ordered a new drive belt after about 18-24months mine broke. If you need to replace yours the belt spec is 350 5M 70 tooth. Einhell site says about €20, I got an automotive supplier to ship two for $20 in New Zealand.
Actually, does it get a bit harsh when you switch it off without the overrun clutch? Do you think it would damage the motor or anything else? Or "she'll be right"?
This does Not have a clutch mate. Its a simple battery powering the reel only. ALL the other modifications are done by my curiosity how far the limits of this mower are. I have shared them in case other people feel same but havent done it yet. This project lead to other projects 🤩. Check the other videos mate, you might find something you like. Cheers
To “back lap” = a home method to sharpen your reel- another option is to use a powered drill to spin reel backwards with applying backlaping paste to achieve desired sharpness so you have same cut every time but involves a bit of pulling bilts apart, or this option trial is adding a switch to change motor polarity to make it reverse by the flick of a switch -without pulling your mower apart 🙂 It depends what you prefer and mower performance expectations.
WARNING!!! Dont buy the same switch i trialed!!! After deeper investigations, because i am using self propelled with 20kg extra weight, the case of the switch even is rated high voltage and amperage, QUALITY is not there!!! I will trial a different switch, need to research on ebay. If you decide to do what i have done, its at your own risk, just like i did 😅 Will make another video with the new switch when comes, will buy a more expensive one, hopefully quality is there!!!

@@Iggs_1 yeah. I'm waiting in replacement drive belt at the moment, but hopefully get some time to do a little test during reassembly.
