Deepbound is honestly very fun. I remember spending 2 hours afk in the deapths trying to get insane for heritics sutra before i realized i could just fight the widow for insanity as a lv8 and i could not kill mobs couse of the sanity regen. But that build managed to be my first all the dead gods heretics sutra hero sword build with tap dancer. It was fun while it lasted

I play Deepbound and progress it in the depths, I have issues. Only 2 of my like 200 attempts have ever gotten to level 20. They both died in the depths to people, how ironic.

but really the only you have to worry about is tyrone (big black scary owl) when you are low level because he goes into hiding most of the time when you get past level 10 and the no father figure players that jump freshies for literally no reason and force them to restart
deepbound is the best origin to go if you are going to stay in the depths because one you don't need a soul to enter caste of light as a deepbound and 2 passive sanity regen which makes maniac flaw the definition of useless
As a main deepbounder with over 200 deepbound progressions over the course of 1.4k hours (3k hours in deepwoken overall), I can confirm that he simply has skill issue.

You can actually lure the treshers to castle light so the npcs can fight them, the treshers wil’ aggro on the npcs while you can wail on them
