Can all of these be put on the 99-01 cobras? Rebuilding my 99 rn and I’m going to get a forged rotating assembly. Jw what options I have for boost, thanks Danny
Yes, with a lot of the cobra parts as the “eaton swap” There are some specific pieces you need, including the front timing cover that you’ll want to have installed when you do the rotating assembly. The heads may also need an adaptor so you’ll want to find a food writ up on the forums
Good video Dan. Im torn between a Terminator or maybe a 2013 GT500 but not really sure. Ever since I seen these as a teen this has been my Unicorn but like most the price is just out of my budget. I hear most people taking the stock eaton and boring it? Is updating the stock Eaton comparable to 2.3 Whipple?
Whipple will always outdo the stock eaton HOWEVER it depends on your goals. A fully ported and pullied eaton you can expect about 530ish WHP. With a Whipple you can get upper 500 to mid 600 whp. But keep in mind the whipple is more than double the cost of the ported eaton. Not sure if 3,500 is worth the 60-100 hp over the ported eaton.
Nice video Dan! I have an 03 Terminator with a 2.3L Whipple gen2 with a 3.0 pulley, 65lb injectors, upgraded fuel system and she turns out about 625whp and 615wtq. With 3.73 gears thrown into the mix, I am having a blast with my dream car. Love that yellow beast of yours too!
@@nickmacias00 4lb lower. They are a real pita to install but worth the effort because they deliver more torque increase than the upper pulleys do. Before I did the lower pulley I was getting about 585 torque to the wheels.
Oliver correct. For just the 2.3L you can get away with bigger injectors (60# for example), a boost a pump, and a modified FPDM. Once you go 2.9L + you'll need bigger fuel pumps as well.
Nice vid good info. I run a 2.6H KB on mine its been pretty reliable, i will say it does put out some heat but haven't had any issues with it, i drive my car on nice days and take it to work a couple days week during the summer. @willsam6243 That's what's up 👌🏾... so it's still holding up pretty well? I'm still riding a pullied Eaton. I'm trying to decide on what blower to upgrade to
@@mmorgan901 yes sir it did, I had to install a new compressor snout, due to not properly torquing a pulley during a swap. Ordered it new from KB. @willsam6243 oh I do u wanna sell it 😁.. I understand the greed for more power it's addictive some time.. what are u putting to the wheels now with the crusher
I have a kenne bell 2.6, with very few upgrades, and I just had it dyno'd at 606 rwhp and 554 ft lbs. it may be fading into the past, but it's still a solid blower. I do like the VMP, and think whipple is good, too. But, am perfectly happy with the kenne bell. That was on 91 octane, btw. Anybody running Pro Charger's F1? Thoughts?
Great vid...I thought you could still get 2.6, 2.8, 3.6kbs for the termis. I have a pullies eaton on my 03. I bought a freshly ported and rebuilt stage 6 with matching plenum and tb, however im thinking that might be a waste. Might just do the 2.8kb lc...did you ever finish rebuilding that redfire termi?
What's the biggest con for the whipple? I heard you can't remove plenum with off the SC...that would make it a pain in the ads for spark plug changes...
The 2.3 TVS is most certainly not kicking any butt lol. My tuner who has tuned hundreds of cobras in all different variations has confirmed this. He overlayed my dyno graph (2.3 Whipple) with a few different TVS guys and I was making consistently 20-30 more whp and torque on the same or less boost. The last one I saw made 3 more hp and 25 more torque on 3 more psi than me, and other with the same boost never made it close. I made 666 whp on a 2.3 Whipple with 19.4 psi. Definitely not getting "its butt kicked"
DODODOK overall I've seen a lot higher torque numbers, but it does depend on how hard you're pushing both blowers. You say you've seen the same numbers at the same boost level as TVS?
Danny Johnson I've seen overall less tq and hp at boost levels over 19psi. I'm uploading another video now of another car from last dyno day on a TVS which peaked at 23.1 psi (2.5 more than me) and still made 20 less RWHP and made 4 less torque than what I've made in 19.5 psi on my whipple 2.3. Same supporting mods too. The other TVS car made 667whp and I think 685 torque on nearly 23.5 pounds, but he had a huge lower pulley, hence the torque. I have an upper only still making 643 torque, made 1 less hp on 3# less boost.
I’ll probably do a 2V vs 4V video at some point, but if the price is right you can have a competitive build. My twin brother has a built 2V bullitt with the eaton tork tech kit (uses same cobra supercharger). th-cam.com/video/mxYigJmVRRI/w-d-xo.html

What type of supporting mods do you need when you upgrade a blower because you can't just slap a 4.0L blower on there right?

Danny Johnson could you do a 2.9L with 80# injectors?
Oliver yes, or even bigger injectors like the ID1,000s. You'll need bigger pumps and even a return fuel system (especially if you go e85)
Danny Johnson how much power do you think that would make
