Great shirt Doug! I love the idea of giving out two sponge balls at the end. I did that for one of my kids birthday performances and went over well. Who doesn't like free stuff they can fidget with.

Yes indeed, I really feel it is an ideal giveaway… I mean what would a real magician do if he could produce ‘toys’ from thin air? He’d give them to kids! Also: thanks for the positivity on the shirt!

I was talking with a buddy just a few months back and neither of us could remember the name of the magic shop there in Dothan. I will definitely be giving him a call to let him know.
I caught the magic bug much the same way you have probably inspired one of the kids you performed for. Cliff Holman was doing magic shows in The Spinning Wheel ice cream shops in Birmingham back in the late 60s. I bet I sat through 4 or 5 of them over the two days he was there. On the second day, I was brave, or curious enough to make my way to the front of the crowd and after his last show, he came up to me and said that he noticed I had watched several of his shows and asked if I wanted to learn some magic. He gave me a paddle with a top hat on one side and a rabbit on the other. He also took the time to show me how to perform the illusion. What surprised me was that he was interested in me showing the trick to him the next time I saw him.
I practiced it over and over again, and the next month when he returned to The Spinning Wheel I was right there in the front row. After the show, we sat and talked for a while and I performed the trick for him. He made me feel special and we had a few encounters over the years. The last time I saw him was at a mutual magician's funeral. Ken Neighbor passed away and I got another opportunity to sit and talk with Cliff. We shared a few stories and had a few chuckles.
Thank you for reminding me of some great times and sharing your videos. Take care.

Love the flexibility of sponge balls. You can start with one, do great magic, and then a second sponge appears and miracles start happening

Thank you for your videos! They have helped me gain confidence to perform. One question I have is the table you use in the sponge ball videos on the street. Did you build this yourself or is it available online? I’ve been wanting to construct my own but your design appears very sturdy. The criss-cross legs look like a stand used for a portable organ or keyboard. Suggestions or thoughts? Thank you again!!!

Spongeballs are so strong. I perform this for adults, and the reactions are the exact same as kids, if not stronger. I think it is slept on by a lot of magicians (though probably not in my circles 😊)
