    I just created a basic motion reel based on some tutorials I did, then started going B2B pitching my work to them, started getting tons of clients this way. Now, I just hire all of the work out to motion freelancers in Asia, and take a huge cut off the top. Life is good)

    It's not perfection that makes something great. It's something that invokes a mood or a feeling, or tells a story or gets a response, or something very conceptual or just really beautiful, and executed really really well.
    MDS: I would say this applies to our conversations with one another too.

    Dope hearing from the pioneers. He was a major influence when I began my design career in the late 90's

      I think he was an inspiration for many designers through early 2000's and on.

    I avoided watching this for so long because it said Motion Design but when I clicked on the video because I had run out of content to absorb I was delighted to see the rest of the title was in relation to personal projects. I actually stopped in the middle of this video to put some work into one of my own personal projects for a few hours and have now returned to finish up. These videos have made it difficult for me to enjoy many TED talks now. When comparing the energy and delivery of the content this channel is just preferable. I used to love TED and TEDx but now The Futur is taking the cake. I always aspired to be on the TED stage but now The Futur is right up there with that aspiration. Hopefully I make it there in time!

    I keep pausing to work on projects. So motivating. I love how he mentions just jumping in. The semester starts back in a week so now is definitely the time to finish up these projects and give them their debut. It also ties in with what you've been saying regarding not waiting until things are "perfect" because we always want to add that "one more thing" and then the portfolio will be ready. That advice has been the best advice and encouraged me to put certain things up on my site that I'm still working on but can still be presented and have allowed me to find work this summer. It's better to show the work than to show nothing at all because one will remain in the same place. I also learned a lot from your emphasis on, "you're only as strong as your weakest piece." I kept feeling like something was missing from my portfolio but once I got rid of a few projects it really, really came together. I also got rid of all of the work that may have brought on legal disputes after watching the episodes with your attorney and my portfolio just looked even cleaner with being all original work which was a neat surprise. For school projects I use photos from creative commons and build upon them but some of the licensing is tricky when it comes to commercial use and after those episodes I figured I'd avoid it since I didn't save the license or photo credit for those older school projects. Thanks for everything!

    The futur and gmunk are MY role models! Always learning so much from you. Gmunk is such a nice humble guy - also happy to know he's a mac person too! Thank you!

    What a nice guy!! This was super! So much energy and good vibes! It's brilliant to hear from someone so accomplished being that open and honest about how they think about the work they do and sharing their process. The way Bradley talks about how progress and trying new things is the goal rather than any defined point is really inspiring. Thanks to all - great interview!!

    If we can totally analyze what goes behind their mind, we can achieve greatness, simple as that.

      if you could sit in front of these 2, what would you ask? 3 questions go.

    • @JPjosepena
      @JPjosepena 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. What are your daily habits?
      2. On average, how many books you read? (a month/ a year)
      3. If you had to start all over again, what would you do different?
      2nd question is to get an idea on how hard I have to work
