Here is a little info based on what you were confused about: They were participants of the survival show Boys Planet, where they placed as the top 9. Hao and Hanbin were fighting for #1 basically the entire show (besides Matthew at the beginning). They ended up getting close due to that. Hao ended up winning #1, followed by Hanbin. Matthew and Hanbin actually knew each other for quite a while before the show, which is why they were joking about if Matthew was jealous of Hanbin and Hao (because they act flirty a lot and at the start of the show they kept bringing up Matthew and Hanbins previous friendship). The Jiwoong comment was because during the show they started showing Matthew and Jiwoong being closer than Matthew was with Hanbin at the time. Yujin is the youngest but he acts pretty mature and introverted for the most part (even though his MBTI was actually E). Technically Hao was the only introvert. Ricky is actually rich. His mom, I believe, is a model who has her own company, and his dad makes a lot too. Jiwoong was actually a BL actor before this! He also debuted I think 2 (maybe 1) times before this, but they disbanded. omg hi baby zerose! ofc boys planet is important in their journey but it's a very long watch and doesn't really showcase all of their personalities that well. as an alternative (or rather addition) I recommend watching the predebut side quests vids from letters of rachel, the zb1 inside jokes videos (first three that pop up, esp the newest) and the boysplanet iceberg video to get some context to boysplanet refs! after that I cannot recommend you watching all of their variety stuff enough, esp amazing saturday (3 eps), camp zerobaseone (their first show after the group was formed) and their own show zbtv! they are the funniest loveliest guys ever ❤
someone else also said this but yeah i dont rlly recommend watching boys planet first if u want to get to know zb1 lol. some members were purposefully showcased/edited a certain way that doesnt really match their real personality (and some just got barely any screen time😭) once u learn more about the group then i definitely recommend watching it though!! :)

You should see their performance on Boys Planet, they are very cool. They originally came from different agencies, but as members of ZEROBASEONE they are under the agency Wakeone Entertainment. When Matthew jokingly said he was jealous of Hanbin and ZhangHao's chemistry, it was because from the start of the audition, Matthew and Hanbin looked very close. They have known each other for a long time before Boys Planet.They previously trained at the Cube Entertainment agency then left, and then are at different agencies now individually but they are very close like brothers. Zhang Hao was super famous at his university in China (his background is a story in itself) and he was his university's poster boy. He waqs accepted into two top ranking schools. Sung Hanbin was part of a dance crew, a dance teacher and a lot of famous Korean dancers openly rooted for him in the show Kim Jiwoong had already debuted several times and was a rising actor in BL movies Ricky was a pretty famous trainee and Gyuvin was also well-known for his looks Gunwook had already participated in a survival show a while back so he was a familiar face

zb1 is a group formed by survival show called boys planet so there's many videos from their dorm (with other trainees who didn't manage to debute) there's many inside jokes based on the show and their predebiut life so it's normal for you to don't get many stuff but you'll learn quickly!!!

Here is a little info based on what you were confused about:
They were participants of the survival show Boys Planet, where they placed as the top 9. Hao and Hanbin were fighting for #1 basically the entire show (besides Matthew at the beginning). They ended up getting close due to that. Hao ended up winning #1, followed by Hanbin. Matthew and Hanbin actually knew each other for quite a while before the show, which is why they were joking about if Matthew was jealous of Hanbin and Hao (because they act flirty a lot and at the start of the show they kept bringing up Matthew and Hanbins previous friendship). The Jiwoong comment was because during the show they started showing Matthew and Jiwoong being closer than Matthew was with Hanbin at the time.
Yujin is the youngest but he acts pretty mature and introverted for the most part (even though his MBTI was actually E). Technically Hao was the only introvert.
Ricky is actually rich. His mom, I believe, is a model who has her own company, and his dad makes a lot too.
Jiwoong was actually a BL actor before this! He also debuted I think 2 (maybe 1) times before this, but they disbanded.
Honestly ZB1 doesn’t act straight very often… lots of love triangles😂
Both Hao and Ricky are from China, and Matthew is from Canada. Matthew and Ricky are actually pretty close now since they are the only 2 that speak fluent English.
Gyuvin is quite the menace, especially around Yujin, Matthew and Gunwook. Matthew swears. A lot. 😂 Gyuvin instigates everything lol

Lemme tell u again ben that zb1's legit so in love parents are haobin (zhang hao who is a Chinese member and a literally mom )and sung hanbin the leader. Both of them from the pre debut has been together like a fcking married couple and no one dares to ship them with anyone else😂since they are themselves loud as hell about themselves yeah😂❤so jiwoong is the oldest kid and youngest maknae is han yujin and middle childs are Matthew taerae gyuvin ricky and gunwook .all of them are absolutely open minded and really precious ❤🤧🌝and zb1's baby girl line is matthew zhang hao and taerae 😂❤

omg hi baby zerose! ofc boys planet is important in their journey but it's a very long watch and doesn't really showcase all of their personalities that well. as an alternative (or rather addition) I recommend watching the predebut side quests vids from letters of rachel, the zb1 inside jokes videos (first three that pop up, esp the newest) and the boysplanet iceberg video to get some context to boysplanet refs!
after that I cannot recommend you watching all of their variety stuff enough, esp amazing saturday (3 eps), camp zerobaseone (their first show after the group was formed) and their own show zbtv! they are the funniest loveliest guys ever ❤
someone else also said this but yeah i dont rlly recommend watching boys planet first if u want to get to know zb1 lol. some members were purposefully showcased/edited a certain way that doesnt really match their real personality (and some just got barely any screen time😭) once u learn more about the group then i definitely recommend watching it though!! :)
@@kalkxx it's still their start. shows their talents as an idol. it's very long yeah but as a zerose who has been stanning them since boys planet, i would recommend the show first. it's obviously everyone's personal choice though.

the reason Hao said he is still getting use to the name ZerobaseOne and Ricky laughing is bc in china 0 and 1 is slang for top and bottom, they were formed through a survival show and this is not too long after the show finished so thats why some of the members still felt unfamiliar with each other
ZEROBASEONE is a group formed from a survival show called Boys Planet. The last clip shows when they were quarantined on Boys Planet. You should see their performance on Boys Planet, they are very cool. They originally came from different agencies, but as members of ZEROBASEONE they are under the agency Wakeone Entertainment. When Matthew jokingly said he was jealous of Hanbin and ZhangHao's chemistry, it was because from the start of the audition, Matthew and Hanbin looked very close. They have known each other for a long time before Boys Planet.They previously trained at the Cube Entertainment agency then left, and then are at different agencies now individually but they are very close like brothers. Zhaghao gyuvin yujin and Ricky originally came from Yuehua entertainment. This is the first time in a survival show that 4 people from the same agency can debut. ZhangHao became the first center of a survival show who was not Korean. Gunwook and Gyuvin are a year apart, they were very close when they became a team on the third mission performing the song En Garde (This song is one of the songs specifically created for the third mission of the Boys Planet survival show).
6:40… Matthew and hanbin were friends even before joining boys palnet… also yujin gyuvin ricky and hao used to train in the same company. But they got more closer before debuting because they lived together for almost 5 months before debuting…
All the members where trainees at some point, JiWoong 2 times debut with different Kpop groups and this one is his third time debuting, also some web dramas and Korean BL dramas in his belt, Hanbin back up dancer for BTS, trainee and student now graduated from Korean University in Kpop, Zhan Hao, University student in China and trainee, he plays violin and I think also piano, Mathew university student in Canada, trainee and dancer, Taerae trainee, Ricky trainee, Guyvin trainee, Gunlock trainee and Yukon trainee... they all participate in Boys Planet, where popular voting choose them for debut together.

Jiwoong before was an actor, he has a well known BL series. before he started acting he was already in a kpop-group. this group ended becauce their managers were sexually, physically en mentally abusing them. he tried a few more times to re-debut, but those groups were dropped before they could actuallt debut. thats why he went into acting. but his dream was still to sing and dance
Ricky was born in Shanghai, which is famous as a city of rich people, then he moved to America. Before he debuted, he wore expensive things and once a friend said he drove a sports car to school.
About who they were before zb1, they all competed on survival show boys planet (which you should totally check out because it's HILARIOUS), most of the members were just trainees. Jiwoong was a BL actor, Hao a music teacher, Hanbin a professional dancer.

So basically they came from the MNET survival show BOYS PLANET some of them trained in the same company e.g yuehuaz (zhanghao, ricky, gyuvin and yujin) so theyve known each other for a while. Most bonds grew during BOYS PLANET and when gunwook says 5th place he means he placed P05 on the show.

hao and ricky are both Chinese and yes Ricky is "Young and rich, tall and handsome" [this was his introduction in boys planet] ricky is actually from a wealthy family, his mom is a ceo?(not sure) of a clothing brand and dad idk, man he used to drive, His classmate said us that he used to go school in a good ass car(which i forgot the name) so yes he is very rich
Hao became the first non-korean to very rank 1st in a korean survival show 🩷🫶🏻✨ made history, he is also pretty good in academic too, tbh Zhang Hao was originally enrolled in the China University of Geosciences which is one of the top 5 best colleges for Geoscience in the world and he took the Gaokao (NCEE) at the mere age of 16 Usually the test is taken at 18 btw. And he entered college at 17. But then he decided that he didnt want to pursue Geoscience and took up the violin. He was originally discouraged from playing it since he wasn't very good, but then went under severe training for 6 months and then retook the CSATs for Arts and placed 1st in the Fujian province and entered the Fujian Normal University as a Music Education major, he was also very popular back then and the amount of pictures taken up of him by the students were carzy 😭
Also Hanbin is the leader of the group also the 3 oldest, i swear he is so handsome and sweet (but the Chinese man too it 😔☝🏻) also he had made a history of always ranking 1st through out the episode (leaving the last one he ranked 2nd in finals)
He is a Professional Dancer and is currently a university student (idk actually i just remembered seeing post that he graduated idk if I'm dreaming or he actually graduated) BUT HE IS A VERY GOOOD DANCER and u should check more out of them

I think the reason for their confidence is that almost all of them were famous before they debuted.
Zhang Hao was super famous at his university in China (his background is a story in itself) and he was his university's poster boy. He waqs accepted into two top ranking schools.
Sung Hanbin was part of a dance crew, a dance teacher and a lot of famous Korean dancers openly rooted for him in the show
Kim Jiwoong had already debuted several times and was a rising actor in BL movies
Ricky was a pretty famous trainee and Gyuvin was also well-known for his looks
Gunwook had already participated in a survival show a while back so he was a familiar face
ZB1 was formed in a survival show named boys planet and they debuted May 2023.. only a few months ago! This interview you just watched was the first ever oficial ZB1 content as a group. Some of them knew each other before the boys planet like Matthew and Hanbin have been close friends for years and Zhanghao, Ricky, Gyuvin and Yujin were all trainees under the same company together for years as well! In this interview they were still pretty awkward with each other lol but some of the videos you watched on ur other ZB1 reactions are recent and they're just like family now, exactly like you said, it feels like they've known each other forever!
