- The CultureMix Arts year in 2.5 minutes celebrates RASPO's 25th anniversary showcase event and an invitation from BBC to perform live for a Blue Peter broadcast in October on 'How Steel Pans are made' led by RASPO's arranger and tuner Paul Watson.
With a successful entertainment licence application to run a bar and host live events, Reggae Fridays launches with Open Mic and an array of featured artists from across the UK backed by a live band led by Don Chandler alongside weekly Reading Reggae Collective community workshops.
The Creative Business Hub continues to support aspiring creative careers and cultural sector business to flourish with advice, support and signposting to funding opportunities led by business mentor Nathifa Jordan.
Reggae singer songwriter Jnr Watson performs Bob Marley songs at London's iconic Saatchi Gallery during the One Love Experience exhibition and featured his own songs live at festivals including Readipop and Summer Love.
Special thanks goes to the CultureMix Arts Board members Ailsa Harris (chair), Matthew Phillip (vice chair), Steve Connolly, Michelle Genis and Louie Genis; to Michele Gibson and Andy for the helpful donation; and to colleagues, participants, audiences and all those who support our vision to positively promote Black music, art and culture from the CultureMix Arts & Music Centre in Reading.
