Really enjoyed the theme and the different spreads you made! Love the idea of having a reading bingo to diversify! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Grishaverse, I'll be diving into those this year as well :)

Aww thank you for checking it out. I am really excited to be able to look back at a year in books and the things I jot down in here.
Your reading them too!?! That's awesome! We will absolutely have to compare notes! I am so glad I found your channel and saw these journals, because I am so excited as I am starting to use my own! How long have you been using a writing journal?

@@BooknBroom I started with Six of Crows last year and plan to read the rest of them throughout this year!
This is my second year of book journalling. Still figuring out what spreads work best for me, so it's always great to see how other people are organising things 😊 but like you said, it's just great looking back at the end of the year!

I watched the entire video and I'm so glad that I did. It was awesome. I love the quotes page. So often you find a great quote and you think that you will never forget it but once you get a chance to use it you then realized that you didn't remember it properly and wish that you had it at your finger tips because you probably don't want to go through the entire book again for a while. Love that idea.

Thank you so much! Exactly my thoughts too. Also sometimes I remember liking a book and just can't put my finger on those gems of comments. Now I can look back and find the quotes I loved in the moment and enjoy them all over again.

THIS IS BEAUTIFULLY DONE. I love your theme so much! Oh my! The best thing about a reading journal that you set up yourself is that you can try spreads and if they don't work, you can always change it to be better suited to your needs! Trial and error is the best part to bullet journalling! I've changed things I've set up in mine already! Your bookshelf is stunning and the corresponding books read spreads makes so much sense. I've already started cramming in the names on the spine haha! Your GoodReads link isn't to your account, just FYI. I tried to add you just now. That reading bingo is genius!! 📚

Thank you! I am so glad to hear you like the way it turned out. I am so happy with it. It makes me smile every time I open it up.
I agree on the making it your own. I watched a lot of videos and somethings seems brilliant and I KNEW I had to have it in my journal, and other things, like writing on the spines, I knew was just going to be a hot mess with my penmanship. I am interested to see what things I drop and what other things I pick up as I go along.
I spent hours on the bookshelf and am really happy with it, but since doing this I have seen a few others styles that are so much more creative...lol. We will see what I come up with next time.
Thank you for letting me know about the good reads link...I will have a look and figure out what I did wrong. I LOVE the bingo idea when I saw it. I am looking forward to trying out different kinds of books and I think it will help m e branch out.
Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my channel. It means so much to me!

Alice is such a great theme! I used to not consume via audiobook either, but started in 2020. My favorite of that art form is the memoir read by the author and not an actor. It's so personal. My degree is also English Literature. Shout out from another who gets stuck in the classics! My set up this year is a Lord of the Rings theme. It's time for a reread. ❤ 📕

    • @BooknBroom
      @BooknBroom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Oh nice! That sounds amazing! I love LOTR also, soooo freaking great! I just bought my first audio book but have not dived into it yet. I am eager but also nervous...is that strange? Some of the free stuff on audible feels like the narrator hasn't read the next line before they say it so there is a strange disconnect that pulls me out of the story and focuses too much on the voice so I never looked at it further. I am hoping one that the one I bought feels more like being immersed in the world of fantasy. What is your favourite audio book and what makes it so great for you? If you don't mind me asking. I am so new to this and would love to hear your thoughts since you seem to enjoy it.

I love your idea about your TBR. I do not have a TBR in my current Reading Journal because I don't really have a list that i want to read. When i am ready to read a book i just pick it. However, having a TBR for book that you already own and want to read is a great idea...maybe that is what a TBR is...that will defiantly be in my Reading Journal for next year. Great layouts and some great ideas.

I am so new to this. I only found the first reading journal video a few weeks ago, and this is my first attempt and figuring out how to make it work for me. I am sure I will change things 100 times over, but for starters, this is what I have come up with. I had no idea what a TBR should look like, but I have so many books that I have collected over the years and NEVER sat down to read. So that's what I am putting on this list.
I hope it works out for you. What pages DID you put in your 2022 reading journal? I am so curious about all things reading journal at the moment...hehe

@@BooknBroom I have a bunch and got a lot of inspiration from different TH-camrs. My pages include of course the title page, and Index, Reading goals for the year, Monthly Stats. Pages for Kindle books, short stories and classic book. I did make a 2 page spread with book shelves to track the books i read. I have two challenges this year, the Alphabet Reading Challenge. Read a book that starts with each letter of the alphabet. I have three books on that list already. then i have my Goodreads Challenge pages. I have a 2022 Re-Reads page. There are a few books that i do want to reread, like IT by Stephen King. I read it when it was first released and what to read it again. I have my Book of the Month Book Haul. With all the books that i have i needed that one so as not to buy double. My Wish list, book series trackers, 2022 Book Releases. then I go into my monthly pages. Each month is just a 2 page spread that has the number of books and pages i read for that month, the books that i read for that month along with what book was my favorite and what book i didn't like so much. Oh and i have spread for the Goodreads give-a-ways. I am always entering those. I do have a year at a glance in the works but not sure what i am going to do with that yet. Please if you wold like to steal any of my ideas, help youself

The little collage pages really make me so happy! I am such a big Alice in Wonderland fan, so it makes me smile and keeps bringing me back to this book, and then back to reading so I can fill up all the pages in this journal! lol...is that silly?

    O. M. G. I am soooo obsessed with your reading journal! 😍 Alice in Wonderland is my absolute favorite! Our wedding was Alice in Wonderland themed - I had so much fun doing DIY projects for the wedding! ☺ I definitely understood all of your wonderland references! Your journal is absolutely amazing! I have a reading tracker spread in my personal bullet journal and I'm trying out the book bingo for the first time this year. I used left over book pages from the Alice in Wonderland DIYs from the wedding to decorate my book tracker page. I have a video of my bujo set up and our wedding on my channel! The caterpillar TBR page is so clever! I'm debating whether I want to start a reading journal. Seeing yours definitely makes me want to start one! I'm about to binge your other reading journal videos lol 📚♠♥♦♣

Oh wow, a fellow Alice in Wonderland fan, I LOVE IT! I am loving the reading journal not just for tracking my reading (which is great) but also for the journal pages about each book. I like being able to look back at pages, get the vibe of the book from how the page was set up, get the book rating and read my thoughts from when I was in the thick of reading it! It's this book that looks like nothing sitting on the shelf, but when I open it up, it holds all these beautiful moments I have had this year in stories!
I never thought I would become attached to a journal when I started this. I just thought 'hey cool, I'll track my reading and a few thoughts' but it becomes so much more then that! It's a part of my history now. I don't know how else to describe it. If you enjoy books, and thinking about what you read after the book is done, consider starting a reading journal.
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my content. It's wonderful to have your in the family!

@@goddess_eve21 I am also just figuring it all out. I did a LOT of research first though as I only just found out this was a thing this last December when people were posting their 2022 set ups, some how it triggered my feed and I was OBSESSED with watching these reading bojo videos. I looked at what people were doing and listened to WHY they were doing things and picked a few things that made scene to me. At the end of the year i am sure I will have a much better idea of what works for me and what I don't like or use. Next year I may have a similar set up or something vastly different. I am loving what I am working with now, and enjoying learning the ropes. But yes! Give yourself the learning time, and time to evolve, change and figure it all out. I just had a dot grid journal from ages ago that I got of amazon. It's nothing fancy or special. The size is smaller then A5 (or what ever the size down from a B5 is) but it's been doing the job. I didn't want to go and send a lot of money on a fancy brand name bojo when I had no idea if I would ever use it. But now that I am, I might upgrade for next year. We will have to see.
