Thats a great idea and I've done that twice. I also like to do things like this to expand my personal knowledge and design ideas. Trust me I love and respect old things like this.

Awesome Build! What liquid do you use for the blackening of metal?
I use midnight black from King Metals in Dallas TX
Another “retail” blackening solution for most nuts, bolts, brackets is gun bluing solution SuperBlue. Almost instantaneous chemical darkening
Is the black pipe to hang shirts or clothing?
Sure! I kinda saw it in a bathroom with a towel on it and TP in the wagon but Yeah I suppose a hanger would work too!
Why not just do a sympathetic restoration and make a cool useful toy for a young kid?
