Álvaro Bass well i think they are really inovative because it's modern rock/metal, it feels new and fresh, as long as it is not pop shit with autotune, we can appreciate it
carp 'tain in my opinion this is not innovative at all, I feel like I've heard this same riffs a myriad of times before, and the song structure is as predictable and poppish as it gets.

I have just listened the story of my own life, with every line I can see myself alone in a deep dark forest, waiting for the inevitable fate........ the music, the lyrics and specially Anna's vocals were mystifyingly awesome!
I am loving Cellar Darling to be honest here. It is different then their Eluveitie work which threw me off the first but after a couple listens I am beyond impressed. This is amazing music you guys have delivered to us. Anna is beautiful and, sickenly talented on vocals. Ivo and Merlin always kill whatever they do. Thank you guys a fan in me you still and always will have

So from what I understand about this song, the old man had a home in which he lived in alone, no wife/husband or kids (as implied by "never held, never felt love"). And then a fire comes along and burns it to the ground. The old man, devastated, builds a wall to keep people away from where his home was. He later dies from exposure to the elements and fatigue and his body rots away. Some time later the narrator (Anna) goes looking for the old man who, at this point, has become a legend. Anna looking for The Hermit of legend is the first verse and the legend being retold is the second verse. Also just a side note, "hearth" means the floor of a fireplace or furnace ("a raging fire befalls the path, holding the ashes of his lair"), it can also be a symbol used to describe someone's home. ("Forever at home")
