This song is by "Anna" is by Arthur Alexander (the Beatles covered his "Soldier of Love" too, but Buzz Canon wrote that one). It was for his girlfriend, Ann, but the melody ran one more note so he changed it to Anna. 'A Shot of Rhythm and Blues was also a cover of Arthur's disc.

Arthur Alexander is the only singer who had his songs covered by the Stones, Beatles, Dylan and Elvis Presley.

❤ You guys are so refreshing in the reaction world. (The album was recorded in one, 13 hour day- according to The Anthology. ‘Twist and Shout’ was recorded last to save his voice.)

It’s cool that you’re reacting to a Beatles song that isn’t well known! Keep going on bantering, I’m learning things and it’s enjoyable

In a lot of early Beatles songs, mono mixes were worked on a lot more than stereo mixes. They would spend weeks on the mono mix, and a few days on the stereo. And _most_ of the songs on Please Please Me were recorded in one day. Love Me Do, P.S. I love You, Please Please Me, and Ask Me Why were recorded as singles, P.S. I Love You and Ask Me Why were the B-sides. Other than those 4, every song was recorded in that one 10 hour session.

Arthur Alexander is the original singer of this song. If you can you should react to his version of his song.

John, "give back 'your' ring...". Arthur, "..my ring.." Beatles version, early, young 'Pop'. Arthur's, raw, mature 'Country Twang'. Love both, but Arthur takes this one for me. Enjoy your reactions
