I don't care what anyone says Frodan is arguably the person that has done the most for the community outside of Riot employees. Love to see this high-quality breakdown. Keep doing what you're doing Frodan, top tier content!
the mf is a great professional. I remember him from his Hearthstone days and he was just as well articulated and professional then. Not a fan of his hair color choices but the dude is one of the best at what he does.
Not trying to talk down Frodan, he is propably the most insightfull comentators on these decissions. This is ridiculiusly great for ppl who want to learn things and improve. But my claim is TFT lives of these thousands of smallcontent creators that make it engaging for casual players. We all have been casuals at one point and without those content creators we'd jsut be overwhelmed by the insight Frodan offers. The casualfriendly contentcreators are the grassroot.
Leveling to 7, sitting on 100+ gold and managing to confidently assess his matchups was definitely a huge amount of skill expression. Hitting Ahri 2 was the WINCON but getting first generally requires high rolling anyways. Skill expression is what gave him the opportunity to live that long and play for the win in the first place.
If you've paid attention to what Huanmie said during this game, he explaied that the second Xayah unit was to maximize the value of Stolen Vitality, in order to keep Sett alive through tons of crit instances. Other frontline units like Shen and Darius may take over the Stolen Vitality value, so he sacrificed those units.
Seeing these breakdowns really puts into perspective just how differently pros see everything. I always see under TFT videos the worst takes, people saying things like "if you get bad augments you lose". If you literally get the choice between EIGHTEEN augments every game and you don't think any of them look good then that shows how little you know about the game if you can't formulate any kind of plan between Legends and the generous amount of mulligans we get. It's like Poker, luck does play a pretty big role in the whole game, but it is ultimately skill that is the most consistent and influential factor.
Thanks frodan, after watching this video I just used this comp with the same items on ashe even though there were 3 others contentsing ionia/vanq and got first :)
That stage 2 shop lock is something I do all the time. If the shop is good and I'm playing around 2/3 costs, I'd rather lose a level 4 shop with meh odds to hit anything better, than lose 1 gold (that can snowball into losing even more). Gold is everything in reroll.
4:22 Items can amplify each other's value, but also you need to keep your team balanced between offense and defense. When should I value one over another?
The answer is as always "it depends". Compositions such as Shurima or Gunners are ramping comps which require good frontline and in those cases tank items are very important. Comps such as Vanquishers, Challengers, Rogues etc rely on getting kills early and fast so they focus more on damage items. In this particular case his items and the gold collector tied perfectly with the crit trait Vanquishers and the early Ashe he was given.
such an amazing an informative video ! , 1 suggestion could you replace the augments in chinese for a picture or something in english , i am still learning and i dont really know the augments by name
V informative video, ty!! At that last round couldn’t he have sold Jhin 2 for jhin 1 and put those items on the second xayah? I’d feel like that’d be better🤔 also how do you see who ur playing against next?
Wonder why he didn't sell Jhin and put the 2 items on the 2nd 2* Xayah at the end there. Not sure if intentional with some logic behind it or just oversight.
That is a secondory advantage of doing this but leveling off cadence and rolling is somewhat common if you are playing a reroll comp thats contested. So ye he most likely does that primarily for the better roll odds.
@@Ashirogi978 i am pretty sure the augment tailoring has much more impact than rolling first. Non of the contesters will roll to 0 to get as much ashes as possible on 3 2 so the diff for most of his rolls will only be like 2 to 3 ashes max because one of them already had ashe to so I don't think he will roll that deep and hit more ashes
When you're rolling at 6, that 5% chance to see 4 costs adds up to a lot over the course of time, especially for uncontested units like Xayah. You'd be surprised if you check out the math! Still highroll but you can't win tournaments without some luck going your way
I thought I did but maybe the edit missed it. He slammed GS over LW because he wants max damage on his carry and Cho'Gath is very meta. So you go for another armor reduction source later in the game while prio'ing max damage Ashe. Sorry about that!
Hello, thx man this strategy is kinda broken, got me already so many winns on first place. Almost every time I get 4 champs 3 stars and nobody can defeat the burst damage from ashe when she is placed on the right spot. Thx for the well explained strategy
I didn't quite get why he didnt sell his Jhin 2 in the last fight to itemize the xayah 2 with no item? Did he think Jhin2 is better than Xayah 2 ? Then again he might had been confident he would win anyways...
hi im not high elo exactly but i play pretty similar to his style that is flexing a lot, so i can assume as ahri 2 was the main carry he don't care to much at that point, yeah he is playing ashe ionia vanquisher reroll but as ahri 2 whit 6 ionia is on board you can use it as your new main carry ^^, also making jhin go down to 1 to just give items to xayah 2 could be troublesome since jhin could do less dmg and survive less at 1* whit no items than what he is doing 2* whit items and xayah can still dead pretty easy remember is still NOT buffed yet
I really like your vids and I am 100% sure that he knows what he´s doin ... BUT, Taking Gold collector and selling his board, there is no world where i would believe that was correct :D
The analysis is really good but I am not sure how much sense it makes for such games. The amount of luck he had that game is out of this world. There was not much decision making going on that won the lobby. Its pure highroll.
would you have skipped on sorc crest on placidium when it’s free 8 sorc? would you have contested 3-way vanquishers? would you have taken tg augment? You know that there’s skill in putting yourself in a position to high roll right? Even after hitting xayah 2 there’s ways that he misplays it into a top 3 instead of top 1 (eg rolling for Ashe 3 instead of waiting for the other vanq player to die off). Sure easy for you to say it’s easy but I’ve got the feeling that if you’re making this comment you’d prob top 3 this lobby at best
@@devastae12 in what way is that related to anything I said? That was out of this world high rolling midgame with the cash and 4 vanquisher. If that isn't hit it's likely not even top 4 with that start
@@Eumelmann he highrolls into a 1st. You in the same game high roll into a 2/3rd at best. If he didn’t get the xayah 2 he goes sixth, you probably bleed out into uncontested 8th
I agree. He found so many 4 cost at level 6 that fit his team. Ive rolled over 50 gold uncontested at 7 and not found the 4 cost i wanted. But there were some decisions that i wouldnt have made, like the tg augment. But part of why he was able to make such good use of it was his crazy highroll, and he didnt have the champs yet when he took it so kind of lucky.
its loses him only 1 gold yes the roll is going to lose him 2 gold but if he would buy the sett he would lose 1 gold bc of his intrest, so he only loses 1 gold overall
He wants to hit Ashe 3 / Sett 3 ASAP so its worth in this specific scenario. The only way the next shop would be better is if there is an Ashe + Sett or 2 Setts which is very unlikely.

yeah that‘s also why he didn’t make crown guard for sett he said he was just gonna get another hp tank item for sett because of his augment.

The amount of work and luck he had to hit to beat someone who ran a Bruiser re-roll is the reason why climbing ranked is Fd
